Henry's POV:
This did not sound good, not even a bit. By the tone of Michonne's voice, I can tell that whatever Rick wanted me to do, it wasn't pleasant. As I see my daughter Lindsey walk off with Michonne and Noah, my attention gets caught to the sound of a shifting doorknob.
I turn to see Carl coming out of his room, "Carl? Hey man!" I raised my hand. "Hello sir, where's Lindsey?" He asks looking worried. "She just left for her sword lessons with Michonne, why?" I respond. "She didn't need anyone to be there for supervision this time?" He raised one brow.
I explained that Noah had accompanied her this time. Something was bothering the young boy since his face let out a soft expression. "Is she better now?" He continued. "Of course why wouldn't she be?" I said. That moment his body shook a bit, avoiding eye contact with me.
"Is there something you know that I don't?" I leaned in. As his eyes meet up with mines he shook his head. Something was up, something he didn't feel comfortable sharing. "Alright kid" I pat his back as I turn heading outside the Inn.
Right before stepping out I bump into Rick who I'm sure came looking for me. "Carl go get Daryl!" He demanded. He nods and does as told. "Henry, this is critical!" He exclaims. "I'll explain more to you outside when Daryl is here. Come on! Carol and Tyreese are waiting!"
As I head out I hear Daryl's footsteps following behind me. "Alright everyone gather up!" Rick says to us. "Carol just gave me some news, apparently we're not the only one's around, we've got company." He scoffs. "Is it about the stolen pocket knife?" Daryl spoke to inquire into the situation.
"It's exactly about the stolen pocket knife. I'm gonna have Abraham be on guard duty while you four run some laps around, scope the area to make sure it's safe for your daughter, my son, and our people!" He instructed.
"The last words the man said before I slayed him were something.... Be careful, We're watching. That's all he said." Carol claimed. As we get dismissed I get handed a walkie-talkie and with a vehicle we head through the roads and take off, Tyreese behind the wheel.
"If you see anything you tell me, I'll pull over" he uttered as he drives slowly through the road. The streets were all abandoned with nothing but leaves on the ground and roadkill. "So what do you think is out here?" I question.
I don't really know these people but If Rick told me to work with these guys, better friends than rivals. "Who cares. Bout time we're on the attentive side." Daryl murmurs. "What?" I spoke. "Ever since the apocalypse started, we've always been the attacked. Moving here and there from camps." Carol explains.
I was in the front seat next to Tyreese, Carol and Daryl in the back. "What he's trying to say is that for once we're the one's who will be attacking. We're attentive this time of what's around us. Not like some idiots praying it will get better." Tyreese finishes off. I turn to the window to look around for anything. "This is Henry Patcher reporting, no signs of anything, how copy? over!" I speak into the talkie. "Rick Grimes, Roger that. Keep us posted of anything. Over and Out." Rick replied to me.
"Hey hold up!" Daryl said squinting his eyes. Tyreese slams on the breaks, "I see something moving." Daryl continued. He points to some kind of weird looking factory. "Shit man no! That thing looks like where birds go to die!" Shouts Tyreese.
"How can you tell something was there? All I saw was air." I tease. "Well are we just gonna sit here and wait for a miracle?" Daryl says as he gets out the vehicle, "or are we gonna find the fuckers?" As we all unload the vehicle Tyreese hands me a H&K G-36, "You good with bullets right?" I look at the Assault Rifle and hang it over my shoulder.
As they all get in combat formation I follow. Daryl in front, Carol and Tyreese in the middle, and I in the back view. As we walk closer to the building, cautious not to get noticed, it was pure silence. All of a sudden we hear gun loadings and men yelling. The "spotlight" was on us.
"Motherfucker!" Daryl yells as we all circle around to see men surrounding us. Guns aiming at us and everything. "Stop!" We hear a voice shout on a mellophone, "If you move we'll shoot! Put your weapons down." He demands. As soon as Daryl threw his crossbow to the ground we all followed, unloading ourselves.
"There we go." The unknown voice spoke, "Don't try anything smart" He continued as he finally showed himself from the rooftop of the factory. His hair was blonde and freshly cut, looked like a tattoo artist or something considering that all of his men were tatted up, him having the most. Very muscular too with a ripped up red plaid shirt and baggy jeans.
"What do you want!" Tyreese yells clenching his fists. "I'm the one asking the questions here." The blonde man spoke. "Yea we'll see about that!" Daryl shouted as he quickly picked back up his crossbow from the ground aiming it at him, but the men aimed their guns back at us. "Hmph, that's not very smart now is it?" Smirked the blonde man.
"See that big warehouse right there?" He pointed. It was a big old dirty warehouse with chains hanging down beside the metal door. "In there awaits you an unpleasant surprise, answer my questions and maybe you won't have to see what's behind the door." He continued as Daryl sets back down his crossbow.
"What are your names and how many of you are there?" He asked stirnly. "Man we don't have to answer shit!" Daryl yells. "I'm going to give you another chance." He speaks before repeating the question again. As we all stand here in silence, he looks around. "Very well then.... BOYS!" He projected.
"OPEN THE DOOR!!" He yelled. Suddenly men came rushing out from the shadows and corners of the factory towards the warehouse. As they grasped on to the chain hanging down from the door they pulled it opening the door. "I'm sorry it had to be this way." The blonde man said as we see a mob of walkers growl and walk towards us.
"We are the Red bulls and I??" We hear him shout as we run fighting off walkers, "Am Reed Stones!" Reed yelled. "Go, Go, Go!!" Shouts Tyreese as we approach the vehicle. As I run I lose grip of my weapon and fall to the ground. "C'mon man get the fuck up!" Daryl says trying to help me up.
"Daryl you go ahead I'll shoot them to buy time! Start the car NOW or we'll never make it!" Tyreese shouts as we see the hungry mob of walkers growling and clawing towards us. As Tyreese begins to shoot I get back up helping him out. "What the hell are you doing!? Get out!" He snaps. "I'm not gonna leave you behind!" I bite. "LEAVE NOW!!" He pushes me away and I hear the sound of something dropping to the ground.
As I run behind Daryl towards the vehicle, I hear Tyreese fire at the walkers. "Henry you drive!" Daryl shouts. As I sit behind the wheel and start the car I hear cries from Tyreese, "WAIT DON'T LEAVE!" We turn around to look at him as he approaches the car. The walkers were right behind him. If he was gonna get in he would have to do it as fast as possible so we wouldn't get trapped by those things.
Carol opens the door to let Tyreese in but he wasn't quick enough. Just as he was about to close the door, one gets a grip of his arm and bites him. Screams and shouts come out from him before he punches the ugly thing and smashes his head with the car door. "HENRY WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR GO!!" Carol yells.
I slammed on the pedal and we take off. "Tyreese you're bleeding, is it bad? Is it infected?" I hear Carol say. I look up at the rear view mirror to see her holding on the wound. All of a sudden the guy loses conscious and falls heavily in his seat. "He's knocked out!" Daryl says. "Can you drive faster Henry? He needs treatment as soon as possible." Carol adds.
I slam on the gas and take off as fast as possible, Daryl guiding me back to the Inn.
"Hold tight Tyreese please don't die on us!" Carol prays. "He's losing concious!" She shouts. "He's not gonna make it" I hear Daryl whisper. I reach my belt for the Walkie-talkie to inform the people back at the Inn but it was gone.So that's the dropping noise I heard back there. "My talkie! It's gone! I must've dropped it back at the factory!" I shout. "Keep driving we should almost be there!" Daryl shouts. As I keep driving I see the Inn sign from around the corner, "YES YOU WERE RIGHT! WE'RE HERE!! I SEE IT!!" I yell as I accelerate the car towards the Inn.
As I slowly pull into the parking lot Carol and Daryl get a hold of his body. I stop the car and they quickly carry him out. People already bundling and crowding the car. "Step away from the car! Give him some air!" Carol shouts. That minute everyone began to panic as Carol examines him.
She feels his forehead to see how far the fever has hit and then presses her ear to his chest. As she sits up she sighs looking down and then shakes her head. As she looks up, her final words were, "He's gone."
