The new guy

After that midseason finale, I think we all need an escape lol. This idea came to me when I saw someone make a Tiktok about Bucky 1.0 and I thought that he and Eddie when he was fighting in the ring would make an interesting fanfiction, so here I am 10:30 at night writing a fanfiction. Also, this fic is gonna be a little different from what the show is since it's a different version of Buck.

"Hey, have you seen the new guy?" Hen said? Buck looks up from what he was doing.

"uhh?" He said. As he raises his head he sees him. "So?"

"I am married to a woman, but that man is so fine."

"Yeah, whatever." He replies.

"What you jealous Buck?" Chimney says.

"What me?" His face is getting red. "No, why would I be?" Both Chimney and Hen look at each other.

Cap walks into the bay. The new guy is putting on a shirt, and Buck cannot look away.

"As many of you have noticed, we have a new member to the 118." He directs his arm to the new guy. "He was in the Army, and he served in Afghanistan, please welcome..."

The bell rings, and everyone, including the new guy, runs to the truck. Buck is not happy about him joining right away. As he remembers it, he was cleaning for at least a month before he got to on an actual call. While in the truck, Cap finishes his speech.

"This is Eddie Diaz." Eddie smiles.

"What is Eddie short for Edwardo?" Buck says.

"Uh, no Edmundo actually." Buck has a blank expression on his face.

"Welcome to the 118, Eddie," Hen says. "Everyone calls me Hen."

"Thank you," Eddie says.

"I'm Chimney."

"Chimney? As in the thing, Stana comes down?" Eddie says.

"Yea, but that is a story for another time."

"So what is your nickname? I'm Buck, you can't be Eddie." He stares at him. "What about Diaz?"

"Not if you want me to respond." He says.

"GI? Solider? New guy." Buck says.

"Buck, come on man," Chimney says.

"What we all have nicknames." He rolls his eyes.

They arrive at the scene.

"Buck, Eddie go inside to search for victims. Hen, Chim, tend to those who are hurt." Cap gives the order and Buck is stuck with Eddie.

Buck and Eddie enter the building.

"Buck we should start from the top and work our way down," Eddie says, which makes Buck angry. Buck nods his head, they make their way up the stairs. It is only a three-story building.

"LAFD, is anyone here," Buck calls out, and Eddie repeats it. They call out numerous times as they walk through the building. They hear nothing. They do this through the whole building. As they get to the first floor, Buck calls out one last time, and they hear something.

"Over there." Eddie points. They both make their way over, they find a middle-aged adult, unconscious on the ground. They pick them up and walk out of the building.

"Hen, Chim!" Buck calls out. They to him and Eddie.

"We found him on the first floor, he wasn't breathing," Eddie said.

"We could have found him sooner if we started on the first floor," Buck said. Eddie looks at Buck.

"Do you have something to say to me?" Eddie said?

"Get him on the ambo, and to a hospital asap," Cap says. "Buck, play nice, remember." Buck knows exactly what he is talking about. The three strikes. He has two already. One for taking the truck to have sex with a girl he met on a call, the other is for sneaking a girl in during shift.

Buck walks away, but Eddie stands there confused. He does not like Buck, and Buck does not like him.

Back at the firehouse, Cap makes dinner as usual.

"So Eddie, what made you want to become a firefighter?" Hen asks?

"Well, after the Army, I felt the need to still help people." He takes a sip of his drink.

"Yea, but you almost lost a life on your first day," Buck says.

"Do you want to go outside?" Eddie says.

"You two, stop, Buck, with me now," Cap said.
