48 hours has passed since Buck and Eddie fell asleep on the couch together. As they both walk into the firehouse, not one word has been spoken between them. Hen and Chimney pick up on that very easily.
"You two are both idly quite." Chimney says. "Did you get in trouble again?"
"I think they did" Hen says.
"No, why would you," buck panics. "No."
Hen and Chimney have known Buck for a while so they know when something is up.
"Eddie, anything?" Hen says.
"Huh?" He's looking at his phone. "Oh, uh no." He walks always, and so does Buck.
"That was weird." Chimney says.
"Very." Hen and Chimney go back to what they were doing before, stocking up on supplies for their bags and the Ambo.
"Listen up, there is a heat warning today, so be prepared." Cap says as he walks out onto the floor.
"Buck, Eddie." He goes back into his office, but right as they are about to sit the bell rings.
A stamped of people trying to get into a gas station, along with a mild car crash near a pump.
"Hey Anthena, greedy people?" Bobbie says.
"Yup, trying to buy ice, back away from the store all of you right now!" She yells at them.
"Chim and Hen, check on that car crash and Buck and Eddie grab whatever we have to gas leaks, we do not want this place to explode."
"Right away cap." They say at the same time. They still haven't said anything to each other.
There were no major injuries, just a small scratch on one of the drivers.
"If you do not back up, we will take you to the station, and let me tell you, it is an old building." People start to move away, the store owner is standing there with a gun. "Do you have a permit for that?"
"Yea, these people are crazy! I told them I don't have any ice."
"Can I look?" Anthena says.
"Yea go a head." She opens the ice chest and he's right, no ice.
"Alight people, he has no ice, now go home and turn on a fan."
A fight breaks out near a pump, and they hit the gas pump which begins to leak.
"LAPD! Stop right now" they don't, but her back up officers break it up and handcuff them. The people trying to get ice have left.
"Alight team, we are good to go, get back in the truck." Cap says. "See you at home." He says to Anthena.
"Stay cool." She replied.
Right as everyone gets into their truck a man lighting a cigarette walks by and his ash lands right where the gas leak was.
An explosion, that rocked the whole block. Athena's car is on its side and debris is falling on the truck.
"Is everyone okay?" Cap asks.
The team responded yes.
"Cap, Athena's car." He looks out their mirror.
"Buck, Eddie get a hose on that fire, Hen, Chimney, with me." They all get out of the truck. "Athena, are you hurt?" Bobbie asks.
"My neck hurts, but other than that I'm okay." He grabs her hand.
Hen puts a neck brace around her.
"We are going to slowly pull her out, grab the back board." Chimney runs and grabs it. "Okay I'm going to need you to unbuckle and slowly lower yourself, are you able to do that?" Bobbie says.
"I think so."
The fire keeps raging, but there is no way to stop it until all the gas is gone, luckily they were expecting a new truck of gas that hasn't arrived yet. They stopped the fire from spreading, but it is still burning, the roof has collapsed and there isn't much of a gas station left.
They got Athena out of the car. Bobbie and Hen head to the hospital with her to make sure she is okay.
"Chimney you're in charge until I get back." Cap says.
"Got it, buck, Eddie focus on the gas tanks if you can."
After hours of waiting for the gas to burn they finally returned back to the firehouse. The heat has become unbearable.
"Spill." Chimney says.
"Not sure what you're talking about." Buck says.
"We all see if you know."
"See what?" Buck says. Eddie is on the lower level near the gym.
Cap and Hen return to the firehouse.
"She will be okay, just a bit sore, but okay." Cap says.
Someone lady and a young boy walk in. Eddie hugs the younger boy. They are all watching.
"What are you doing here?"
"We wanted to make sure you were staying cool." Christopher says.
"He was so worried about you." His Tia says.
"Buddie thank you, guess what, we have ice cream. Do you want ice cream?"
"Yes!"
He helps him walk up the stairs.
"Uh everyone, this is my son, Cristopher and my Tia."
"Tia?" Buck says, the first words to Eddie in days.
"Aunt."
"Hi Chris, I heard you want some ice cream." Cap says.
"Yes please." He relies.
"This is Hen, Chimney, Cap, and Buck." He points to all of them, but his eyes don't move away as quickly when he points to Buck.
"Here you go Chris." He sits down and begins to eat the ice cream.
"So this is Buck?" His tia says. "Very handsome." Buck blushes.
"You've heard of me?" Buck says.
"All of LA county has." Chimney says laughing.
"Eddie has told me all about you."
"Tia." He motions her to stop.
The whole team saw. They are all not sure exactly what is going on, but they know it's something.
"Anyways, we just wanted to stop by." Chris is nearly done with his ice cream.
30 minutes goes by and they are on the main floor looking at the fire truck when the bell goes off.
"I have to go, love you, see you at home." Eddie hugs Chris and gets into the truck. He waves him off.
"You have a kid?" Chimney says.
"Yea, he's amazing." Eddie says.
"He's adorable." Buck says.
"Thank you." Eddie says.
