Chapter 11 - Performance

"It's just the way I am, hehe! But thanks for the compliment," beams Amber. "After you, my lady," chuckles Eula, bowing. "Why, thank you," replies Amber, as they step out of the changing room and put their clothes into a locker. They step out and await their turn in the background stands. They hear the rustling of clothes, and whip their heads around simultaneously, before their jaws drop at the sight of Jean and Lisa.

Jean and Lisa step out from the dark, leaving Eula and Amber awestruck from their clothing choices.

Lisa is wearing a resplendent lilac dress with a heart neckline. Sewn into every nook and cranny are clusters of rhinestones. She has long sleeves with a bit of mesh fabric at the end. Then, there is a large slit on the right portion of her dress, exposing some thigh. To bring it all together her usually tied brown hair has two mini braids in it fastened with a single hair accessory - an ornament that looked like the element of Anemo.

The two glance over at Jean, who had an equally amazing outfit. She wore a pale green blazer along with a small choker attached at her neck using a ribbon. She wore a luxurious corset - like shirt underneath that. Next, she has some white pants with floral designs woven in gold thread, with a sparkly little belt too. She wore white knee - high boots with swirls of azure, along with navy gloves that had white palm insides. Her blonde hair was in a small bun with a golden ribbon cutely woven into her hair, probably by Lisa, as well as an ornament that looked like the element of Electro.

Classic Lisa to get matching accessories that represent their respective lovers.

"Don't we just look fabulous? And oh my, cuties, you really went all out for your outfit!" trills Lisa, clearly pleased. "You do. Both of you look incredible," replies Eula. "T-Thank you," replies Jean, flushed from all the praises.

The four of them stay seated in the stands as they watch the dancers compete, Noelle announcing each and every performance. An hour later, Amber and Eula are requested to join the wings in preparation for their performance.

At long last, it's Amber and Eula's turn. "Welcoming our next contestants, it's Eula and Amber!" yells Noelle.

The music starts to build up as Amber and Eula step out from either side of the stage, a spotlight following them. They gaze at each other briefly, before the music goes into its prelude and they dance toward each other, performing an arabesque in sync together.

The music suddenly becomes mellow, as the two twist into each other's arms delicately, the small mirrors effectively placed around the stage reflecting the spotlights on them, which further bounces off their own clothing, forming a magical show of lights that shone throughout the area, causing the unexpecting audience to respond with admiring oohs and aahs.

Twirling and spinning in sync with each other with grace, they landed in each other's arms as they looked at each other before performing the tango. "As we practiced," whispers Eula as she clutches onto Amber's waist and the Outrider places her hand onto Eula's shoulder, grinning back at her.

Amber raises a leg and wraps it around Eula, her back arched out as they glide across the stage beautifully, dancing with ease. The icy notes perfectly pair with their extravagant dancing, as the two raise their arms to the sky in unison, before bringing their arms back down and clutching each other, as they rush across the stage in a flurry of vibrant fabric.

Smoke starts to fill the stage, as the girls disappear. However, the music continues to play and the audience become confused, wondering where they were, before lights switch on and the smoke disperses, as they remerge in new outfits. Amber's now in a short red dress, with fingerless gloves that have ribbons curled around her arms, along with her red heels. Eula, on the other hand, is in the same outfit, except she wore an iridescent cape this time with a short - sleeved white shirt. They continue to sway and whirl in time with each other, as they run forward and leap into another arabesque.

They return to each other; golden eyes of the Outrider returning home to the soft gaze of the Spindrift Knight as they tap their shoes in time, the sound of heels clacking on the floor rhythmically to the music, as the music comes to a close and they finish, dragging their legs in unison as they stay close to each other and pause, smiles on their faces.

Nearly everyone in the audience gets to their feet, and they are served a huge round of applause and flowers thrown at them, to which both grin and curtsy, as they go and wait in the seats reserved for performers. A couple dances later, and it was Jean and Lisa's turn. The two execute a glorious ballroom dance performance, that ended with Lisa materializing purple roses falling down on the stage.

After that, all the performances are complete, and all the dancers are requested to return to the stage. The audience murmurs as Noelle walks up to the stage. "Citizens of Mondstadt! Today we witnessed many great performances here at the Finest Dancers contest. However, we can have only three winners! Today's judges are our resident idol and deaconess, Barbara and our special guest, the rock 'n' roll musician: Xinyan from Liyue! They have calculated all the scores for us, and we will now announce the winners. But before that, a special word from our judges," chuckles Noelle. "Good evening, Mondstadters. I'm Xinyan, and it's been mighty fine to be a judge for this contest. I hope you've all had a good time so far, and over to Barbara!" shouts Xinyan.
