"So we're playing how many games in June?" I ask as my cousin and I pull up to the team hotel.
"We play three games here in Brazil in the beginning of June then at the end of June, before the Euro's, we'll play England and the Netherlands."
The 2023 World Cup is being held in Brazil so the Brazilian Football Confederation want to put on a little showcase to get the country excited for the tournament in two years.
The showcase involves Brazil, the United States, Canada, and Australia.
"Then we have a new season?" I ask as I look at my cousin.

"The APL starts after the September friendlies, yes." Alex says.
"Cool." I say as we stop outside the hotel.
Once our taxi's parked, we get out with the driver then we grab our bags from the trunk.
"Thanks." My cousin says to our driver then we head inside the hotel.
Once inside the hotel, I follow Alex since she's been here already.
My flight out of America got delayed because of rain.
"In here." Alex says then I follow her into a large conference room.
"Hey Ladies." Cairo Jónsdóttir, the national team manager, says. "Puts your bags down and grab a seat."
My cousin and I nod then we do as told
"Am I the last one here?" I whisper as Alex and I sit down.
Alex nods then the two of us sit in silence as the coaches talk about the camp and everything that revolves around it.
After we know all the details of the camp, the newbies are told to introduce themselves one at a time so I wait for my turn.
Once it's my turn, I head to the front of the room then stand in front of the United States Women's National team.
"She's really pretty." I hear someone whisper.
"And her melanin is poppin." A different lady whispers.
"Name?" Ashlyn Harris asks.
"Jucinara Thaís Soares Barbosa Harrelson" I say. "But I go by just Jucinara."
"Hell of a name." Someone says.
"Age?" Ali Krieger asks.
"25." I say.
"Where we're you born?" Lindsey Horan asks.
"Here." I say. "In São Paulo, Brazil."
"Ay." Catarina says. "Join the club."
I chuckle at the Brazilian then I wait for the next question.
"So are you a naturalized American like Cat?" Tierna asks.
