Loki's hostage

Decisions

You stand over the now empty space. Panting. You throw the prone to the side and flick back your hair.
"You were saying"
He looks to you smug, slowly nodding his head.
"Well now he's out of the way, i guess you can decide between yourselves who will have the honour of taking my life, and then my seat."
He confidently states.
"We aren't here to kill you, or to take your seat, we just want to go back to our lives" you snuff
You look to Loki
"Well, maybe not specifically our exact lives we had before. you can do that right? Put us back?"
He nods "yes i can, but you can only be placed exactly where you came from, no shift in time, you can only travel on your own timeline, no moving to another"
"So, what are you saying" as burrow your brow, hope slowly escaping you. "You are the keeper if time, yet you can't change anything?!" Your frustration with him building
"I cannot change time, i can only ensure people stay on their correct paths, i can change that path if the person proves worthy of a new one, i however cannot bend or manipulate time, and i certainly wouldn't just so you can be together and live happily ever after"
"He's saying we cannot go back together" Loki jumps in, you see the same hope leaving his eyes. "I know Loki, i get what he's saying, i just don't want to believe it"
He continues "Our timelines don't meet, not until you went back in time for the stones"
"But what if that was supposed to happen, what if all of this is supposed to happen, what if this is our timeline, our destiny" you plead
"Then stay" the man interjects
"Kill me, and you can both live happily ever after here instead, managing the timeline however you wish, and you," he points to Möbius
"They can then place you back from where you came, if that is your intention"
You look to Loki then down at your feet contemplating the offer, you look back up to the man.
"And what if we just decide to leave you to it, leave you to continue your reign"
"you're stuck here, there is no way out of here, only if the time keeper, me" he used his thumbs to point to his chest "places you back on the timeline, or you die. And well if you wont be helping me, i wont be helping you"
He goes back to his seat, leaning back, feet up on the desk in front as he watches you all scramble your minds for more options.
"Theres no point thinking about how you can get out, there is only the one plausible option, one of you releases me from this burden and take over, the other two, free to do as the new time keeper pleases"
"so, who will it be? But also, no need to rush, we have all the time in the world" he winks

Loki takes you by the arm.
You look to him and force a smile.
"Loki, it has to be us, Möbius won't kill him, and plus it isn't fair for him too, he deserves to go back to his life before, it has to be us"
Loki shakes his head "and you deserve that too, not stuck here, you have a life you need to live"
"And you think i can just carry on living my life without you?"
"Its us Loki, it has to be us, you aren't alone anymore, we can do it together, there isn't another choice, and I'm not leaving here without you"
He stays silent, just looking at you, his hand caressing your face, his eyes watering, looking like they're about to break free of tears.
"Amelia, i don't know how this will end, but just know i love you"
"Loki!?" You sharply question
He nods to the Timekeeper, and in that second you feel him push you, you reach out for him unable to grab him as you continue to fall, a feeling surrounding you, a feeling you recognise, your mind awakens as you hit the floor with a bang, you realises he just pushed you through a time door.
