Chapter 5: A terrible nightmare

Author notice: AYY I did end up posting chapter 5 today!

Shu POV

H-Huh..? Where am I? Is anyone there? Hello??? My voice echoed through the dark empty halls of what seemed to be nowhere. Hopelessly, I walked around, when I stopped in my tracks.

I saw a figure standing, his back facing me. Hi? I tried to get his attention. He looked at me, and as I got closer, I saw something, or rather someone lying in front of him. It was Valt.

That was my cue.

I rushed over, happy to see him again. But, my internal smile suddenly came to an end. The standing figure was Blue Eye. He had a knife in his hand, covered with blood.

I saw Valt lying on the ground, lifeless. A pool of his blood surrounded him. V-Valt...? I stuttered. I started to question Blue Eye in an angry tone. He just shrugged. He had no bother. I could feel my fists gripping and before I knew it, I had punched Blue Eye.

I had no control anymore.

I started beating him repeatedly, crying and screaming in agony in the process. When suddenly, Blue Eye faded away. I turned back to see Valt was still lying there, I walked back over to him and held him in my arms.

I closed my eyes, shedding my tears.

'Don't cry,' I heard someone say. I opened my eyes and saw Valt talking to me. V-Valt?! I hugged him tightly, leaving blood on my shirt. 'I don't want to be him,' Valt cried. 'I don't want to be him,' I heard him repeat. Then silence struck the room.

'Why didn't you save me?' Valt's trembling voice asked me. My eyes widened in shock. I tried to, Valt, I did. I replied. 'No, you didn't even care,' I heard Valt say. 'I hate you Shu..! But I guess you hate me too,' Valt mumbled. Do you really believe that? I asked him, tears starting to fall again.

Before Valt could respond, everything went black.
