*Yulissa's P.O.V.*
I opened the doors to the school library with my right hand, holding my lunch plate with my left. THe door, feeling a bit heavy, pushed me a little causing me to almost drop my lunch plate. I was about to use my back to push the door away, but somebody beat me to it. I walked inside, and turned around to thank the person who held the door. As soon as I who the person was, I was left speechless.
"Your welcome." he grinned. "Shall we walk?" he gestured to the table where my backpack sat on the chair.
I looked down, and began to walk. Why is he even in the library? I placed my backpack onto the ground, and took a seat.
"Do you mind if I sit with you?" he asked.
I stared, shaking my head and he sat.
"We haven't spoken in a while. How have you been?" he questioned.I swallowed the piece of nugget I had bitten, and then cleared my throat. "I've been fine."
"Want me to make you feel better?" he grinned.
"What?" i stated..
"I miss you, Yulissa."
I was about to say something until he interrupted.
"Don't speak, just hear me out."
I sat back in my chair, resting my hands on the table, but shaking my leg impatiently. Of all days, why did Julia have to be absent today?
"I'm listening." I whispered.
"Ever since we broke up, I've been thinking of you nonstop."
"Funny you should say that since I've seen you with about three different girls since last." I replied.
He reached for my hand, and before I could pull it away, he gripped it tightly. His mouth ran off about all the nonsense he has told me before, but I wasn't listening. His grip was starting to hurt, and it was hard for me to pull away.
"Julio, you're hurting me." I whispered.
"Shut up, just listen." he hissed.
"Julio!" I cried.
"Excuse me." a voice stated.
We both turned around, and Julio's grip loosened a little, but when I tried to pull away, he gripped tighter.
"What do you want?" Julio stated angrily.
"You're sitting in my spot, I want you to move. And you are holding my girlfriend's hand, I want you to let go before we both do something we might regret." Kevin replied, tossing his backpack near mine and his lunch plate on the table.
"Are yo-" Julio laughed. "Are you kidding me? You two, a thing? I mean, I always knew you" he pointed to Kevin "liked her, but I didn't think she would like you back."
"Well she does, now I'm going to tell you one more time. Get moving." Kevin gritted his teeth.
Julio laughed some more, but then threw my own hands at me. "Go ahead, keep her." he responded but then walked up to me and whispered in my ear, "I'm not done talking to you." and Julio left.
Kevin watched as Julio exited the library, and once he nodded for clearance that he wasn't here, I exhaled outloud and wiped a couple of tears away with my numb hands.
"Are you okay?" Kevin asked with worry, looking me in the eyes.
I nodded and mumbled, "Thank you." I stared at my hands, placing one on top of the other hoping that my cold fingers could make them feel better. Great, I think its gonna leave a bruise. Why do I have to bruise easily? I could feel Kevin staring at me, but decieded not to question it. I knew it wouldn't be long before he were to ask why I even put up with Julio for so long.
SInce I can remember, Kevin was always there to heal me when Julio had done some damage. There was even a time when it got so bad, that Kevin rocked me to sleep because my body was full of fear that I couldn't stop shaking.
"I don't und-"
I interrupted Kevin, 'Please don't. I don't want to talk about the past." My lips started shaking and I had the urge to bite my nails.
"Are you still smoking?" he muttered.
"No, its been a while." I replied, looking down at my food and remembering the old days when I would even skip class just to smoke.
"If you ever need my help, don't hesitate to ask. I know we don't really talk as much as we used to, but I'll always be here." he replied.
