"Today marks 2 months since the kidnapping of Kim Hongjoong. Investigators are still trying to piece together evidence that could help them find the missing 23-year-old."
Tyler turned off the TV and slowly leaned back as a sigh left his nose.
2 months...
He couldn't believe that's how long it has been since Hongjoong was kidnapped and investigators still weren't close to finding where he was.
Looking down at the phone in his hand, he clicked on the contact and held the device up to his ear. It went straight to voicemail.
"Hey, this is Hongjoong, sorry I couldn't answer right now, but leave a message and I'll get back to you. Bye!"
BEEP
"Hongjoong, wherever you are, I just hope you're okay... I hope you're alive," he muttered. He pulled the phone away, the screen lighting up and stared at the contact for a few seconds before hanging up.
―――
Ringing in his ears was all Hongjoong could hear and then the pounding ache in his head.
Was he on the floor?
For a second he started panicking because he couldn't see but that's when he remembered the blindfold and he calmed a little but was still confused as to what happened.
"Hongjoong. Hongjoong, can you hear me?" A gentle voice called out and Hongjoong felt around until his hand touched Seonghwa's. Warm.
"I-I... what―"
"Sh, baby, you're okay. You fainted and scared the fucking hell out of me. Luckily I caught you before you could hit your head."
Fainted? He fainted? How? What caused it?
He remembered he was shivering so he decided to shower (with Seonghwa's permission) and the water was quite warm, though, he didn't realise it because all he could think about was how cold he felt. He walked out of the bathroom and that's when he felt faint. He heard Seonghwa shout his name in shock as he collapsed and everything went silent.
Hongjoong went to get up but Seonghwa grabbed him by the bicep, stopping him. "No, no, no, don't get up. I don't want you collapsing again, sweetheart. Let me help you."
His head was spinning and he felt like crying because he just felt so unwell. That was scary, just, fainting suddenly out of nowhere.
"May I pick you up?"
Hongjoong slowly nodded to confirm. He felt an arm under his knees, the other going behind his back before he was easily lifted and he gasped, grabbing onto Seonghwa's shoulders. After a few steps, he was gently laid on the bed, head resting on the soft, cool pillow. He jolted when the back of Seonghwa's hand came up to feel his forehead.
"Hm, you're quite warm. You must be getting sick. Maybe that's why you fainted."
His hand was removed and Hongjoong shivered at the loss of warmth.
"My poor baby," Seonghwa muttered with a pout.
"I... must have had the water too hot and maybe that's what made me faint as well as being sick," Hongjoong said softly, not wanting to talk too loud because his throat was a little sore and he didn't want to worsen it.
He listened to Seonghwa's footsteps walk away. Seonghwa went to grab a glass of water and then made his way back over to Hongjoong. He gently grabbed the other's hand as he moved the cup closer and Hongjoong's fingers wrapped around the cool glass.
