Chapter 1: Kim Hongjoong (X)

"Kim Hongjoong. Aged 24. Kidnapped on November 7th, 18 months ago, which just so happens to be your birthday?"

"...Yeah."

"Hongjoong, would you like something to eat? Drink?"

"..."

"Water would be fine, thanks."

"I know you must be traumatised after what happened, but I'm going to ask you questions that may make you uncomfortable so we can find your kidnapper."

"The time of the kidnapping took place between 8 and 8:30 p.m... Your roommate and friend, Tyler, reported your abduction the next morning after he received a phone call from you. Was he lying about that phone call?"

"Hongjoong-"

"No... No, he wasn't lying, I did call him. My kidnapper never took my phone. I tried sneaking out of bed that morning but he woke up and asked me what I was doing... I was scared. I lied and said I needed to use the toilet and while I was in the bathroom I called Tyler. That's when my kidnapper barged in and took my phone away from me and..."

"And?"

"It doesn't matter... It's in the past."

"Hongjoong, did this man hurt you?"

"..."

"Hongjoong-"

"Matt, let him go at his own pace. We're in no rush."

"No."

"No? He never hurt you? I find that hard to believe."

"..."

"...I-I'm sorry, no, h-he did hurt me... But only a few times if I wasn't listening to him or if I pissed him off."

"Okay. Did he ever touch you inappropriately?"

"..."

"Hongjoong? ...You don't have to answer if it's a sensitive topic."

"You have not yet described your kidnapper."

"...Because he kept me blindfolded the whole time I was with him. That's why I don't know what he looks like."

"He kept you blindfolded the whole time? ...Why didn't you ever take the blindfold off to get a look at him? You could have done it while he was sleeping."

"...I was scared he would hurt me. Also, I couldn't look at his face when he was asleep because it was really dark and I feared that if I turned the lamp on, it would wake him up."

"Wait, you were sleeping beside him?"

"...It was the only place for me to sleep."

"...Did he ever leave his home?"

"...Yeah, a lot, actually. That's when I would take my blindfold off and when he would get home, he would knock three times on the door to alert me to put my blindfold back on before he stepped inside."

"So you would have gotten a good look at the interior of the home. Could you describe it and the area?"

"I was kept in a storage closet whenever he went out. There were no windows, so I couldn't see where I was."

"Did this storage closet contain anything? Shelves with boxes that contained certain things inside? For example, a photograph?"

Hongjoong's eyes nearly widened but he luckily stopped himself from doing that. He was describing Seonghwa's storage closet. This motherfucker is suspecting Seonghwa, just like his annoying asshole of a roommate, Tyler.

"..."

"No. It was completely bare. There was nothing."

"Did you ever try breaking out?"

"Once... And I succeeded... But I didn't get very far because I didn't realise he was home and he heard me trying to escape."

"Do you know why this guy kidnapped you?"

"...He was lonely... And he just wanted to be loved."

"Did he ever tell you his name?"

"He told me nothing about himself."

"...You look quite healthy for someone who has been through a traumatic event. I thought you would be skinnier considering a kidnapper wouldn't care too much about your wellbeing. You must have snuck food while he was sleeping, but I think if you did that, he would know and get angry, right?"

"...He cared about my wellbeing."

"Did he now? Why would he? I thought he would just use you for his sick games and then throw you into that storage closet, ready to use when he got bored."

"No! No, because he doesn't deserve to be put in jail! He just w-wanted to be loved. He lost his loved ones when he was younger and had to deal with so much bullshit growing up! I'm not telling you anything!"

"I let him touch me! I let him kiss me! I let him fuck me! Because I love him! And you're never finding out who he is."
