After being kicked out of his own home Stephen had no choice but to live on the streets,doing favors for food.
Stephen gained a palisman which is a magical creature that lives alongside a witch during their life.He named his palisman Feather.Stephen's palisman was a white goose with a bell in it's mouth.
One day it started to rain.The only problem with rain on the Boiling Isles is that the rain tends to be boiling hot.
Stephen put a force field over himself and his palisman and took refuge in an alleyway.
As he sat in the alleyway Stephen felt like crying to himself.
He was completely alone with nowhere to go.Noone cared about him and he was left to die in the streets by his parents.
He would've told his friends what happened but he didn't want them to worry about him.Kendrick suspected there was something wrong but Stephen insisted that he was completely fine.
There was one time Stephen ran into his parents who didn't even acknowledge his presence.Stephen begged them to take him back but they pretended that they didn't know him.
Feather was worried about him because Stephen was alone.
About an hour after it stopped raining Stephen ran into his friend Luz.
Luz noticed how hurt Stephen looked.
"Stephen,are you okay,why aren't you at home?"Luz asked
"I don't wanna talk about it..."
"Did you get stuck in the rain?"
"Yeah,only for a little bit."Stephen laughed
"C'mon let's get you home so you can take care of those burns."
"But I-"
"Come on hurry up!"Luz interrupted, grabbing Stephen's hand dragging him with her.
Stephen said nothing about it as he ran with Luz.
When they arrived Stephen stayed three feet from the steps because he knew that the house demon would attack him.The house demon was the head of a goat attached to the door who's name was Grunt and he had horns as sharp as a newly made sword..
"Stephen,are you coming?"Luz asked
"I'm good right here..."Stephen replied
Luz shrugged and knocked on the door.
Stephen could feel his anxiety rise as his father answered the door.
"What is it;I'm not buying any trashy cookies,"Stephen's father grunted
"Hi Mr. Riverstone can we come in?"Luz asked
Stephen's father looked behind Luz to see Stephen standing there nervously.
"He is not welcome in this household."Stephen's father growled
"What do you mean?"Luz asked
"I mean he is no longer my son and he is no longer a Riverstone;now leave or I will send my house demon after you."
"That's not a proper explanation!"Luz huffed
"Alright I've had enough!"Mr.Riverstone snapped slamming the door shut
"Grunt get the human off of my porch!"
The house demon awoke and tried to undercut Luz with his horns when suddenly Stephen pushed her out of the way, getting hit in the process.
Stephen landed on the ground with a thud and he was bleeding out of a wound in his right eye.
"You two need to leave before another one of you gets hurt!"Grunt exclaimed
"Stephen I'm sorry but you know not to come here."Grunt sighed
"Stephen, are you okay...?"Luz asked carefully approaching Stephen
"What do you think?!?"Stephen snapped holding the wound on his face
"Why didn't you tell anyone about your parents?"Luz asked
"Because if I did it would make you guys worry and I don't want to bother anyone or make anyone leave me again."Stephen began to cry, mixing his tears with blood.
"Stephen..."
"I feel as if I'm better off alone..."Stephen murmured
"We wouldn't leave you because someone else did..."Luz replied
"But...I...They..."Stephen started panicking and sobbing because his anxiety was too high.
"Stephen,hey,calm down,"
He started breathing faster and faster and after a while he felt nauseous.
Finally Luz calmed him down by placing Feather down next to him.
"Come on,let's go see Eda,she might know what to do..."Luz said
"O...Okay..."Stephen whimpered
Luz let Stephen go in front of her so he could rinse off his eye.
"Hey...human?"Grunt spoke suddenly
"Do you need something?"Luz asked
"Take care of him for me,he's better off away from here..."Grunt sighed
"Also tell him I'm sorry for not stepping in when I should have."
"Don't worry Grunt I will."Luz replied
