When they got there Luz and Stephen were greeted by Hooty.
“Heya Luz what are you up to?”Hooty asked
“Hey Hooty,is Eda home I need to ask her something?”Luz replied
“She left a little while ago(Hoot,Hoot) to go and restock her Apple Blood.”Hooty answered
“Hey who’s your friend,I’ve never seen them around here before?”Hooty asked
“Oh right;This is Stephen,He’s my friend.”Luz answered
“Alright then come on in.”
They walked into the house and Stephen sat nervously on the couch.
Luz went to grab some medical supplies to treat Stephen’s injured eye.
Stephen was told to hold a wet washcloth on his eye so it doesn’t bleed too much.The only problem was that it washed off some of his makeup.
Stephen got slightly dizzy and decided to set his head on the arm of the couch.He almost fell asleep but Luz woke him up to tell him that Eda came back.
“Luz what’s with the kid?”Eda asked
“Uh can we talk about this in the kitchen?”Luz asked
“Sure.”Eda replied
Luz and Eda walked into the kitchen to talk about why Stephen was there.
“So can he stay,I can share my room?”Luz asked
“Are you sure his parents said that they weren’t taking him back?”Eda asked
Luz nodded.
“His dad kicked him out because he did something that his parents didn’t like.”Luz answered
“I suppose he can stay as long as he doesn’t cause trouble;besides someone has to keep King busy.”Eda snorted
“Thank you Eda you won’t regret this I promise!”Luz exclaimed
“We can go to the woods later and find wood for a couple beds for you two unless you both want to make your own owl nests?”Eda said
“Ooh can it be nests,please,please,please?”Luz begged,bouncing up and down excitedly
“It’s gonna take a lot of items but sure I don’t see why not.”Eda answered
Luz ran to the living room of the house.
“Stephen,guess what Eda said you can stay!”Exclaimed Luz
Luz walked in and noticed that Stephen fell asleep with King, a little dog-like demon with a skull for a head and horns sticking on top with one that had once cracked and had been glued back together sleeping on his lap.
“I’ll let him know later.”Luz sighed
Stephen was exhausted from everything that happened.Everything was so confusing and hard.Luckily he still had people around him.
Later that night Eda walked by Stephen who was still asleep on the couch.
He was still sitting up with his back leaned up against the cushion at the back of the red couch.
He had his left arm on the arm of the couch holding his injured eye with the washcloth that Luz gave him that was now completely dry but stained with blood.
"Hey kid;wake up for a sec."Eda said gently, shaking his right arm.
Stephen slowly opened his eyes and sat up to look at Eda.
"You shouldn't sleep sitting up like that."
"Sorry...I didn't mean to…"Stephen mumbled
"You're fine, just lay down and put your glasses on the coffee table."Eda replied
"Okay…"
Eda was questioning why anyone would abandon him because he seemed like a somewhat normal teen.
