As soon as we reach my quarters, Delano is gone. Without so much as a goodbye. I roll my eyes and open the door, slipping inside my rooms. I close the door, and nearly jump out of my own bones to find Lilith lounging on my couch.
"Gods above, do none of you people know privacy?"
She jumps up and looks at me like I'm a crazy person. "Who is you people? Who else has been in your quarters as of recent Kas?" She folds her arms over her chest eyeing me. Then she gasps, "OH MY GOD! IT WAS THE CAP-" I stalk over to her and cover her mouth with my hand.
"Will you SHUSH." I state in a whisper yell. I uncover her mouth and wipe my hand on my leather pants. "No one has been in my room, I just nearly had a heart attack this morning."
She cackles, and plops down on the couch, kicking her boots up on the table in front of the fire. "Are you sureee?" She wiggles her eyebrows and I glower at her.
"Yes. I'm positive. How did you even get in here anyways?"
"There's a passageway from my room to yours."
"Wait, seriously?" I say, excited to find out some secrets of the Capital.
"No." Lilith replies flatly. "Your door was unlocked. So I walked right in." She shrugs, "Who just leaves their door unlocked Kas? That's how ya get robbed."
I glare at her and sit down next to her. "I was in a rush to leave. I slept in." I give her a sheepish smile and she grins back at me.
"How late?"
"Like thirty minutes." I grimace and she cackles.
"I was late by an hour and a half."
My jaw nearly falls on the floor, and I laugh. "An hour and a half?? Did you see the King?"
"Of course I did."
"And you were late by an hour and a half.?" I cackle shoving her with my shoulder. "Dude you really do have a death wish."
She shoves me back and cackles. "He can't kill me, I'm a part of the family who pays his outrageous taxes. Plus, I'm way to attractive." She wiggles her eyebrows, then glances at me. "A black cape?"
I run the fabric between my fingers, and smile. "Yeah, I like the fabric, and I've never seen anyone with a black cape."
She eyes me for a minute, then states teasingly. "You know who else loves black capes? The Princey Prince. You two matched today, and you're telling me that is an accident?"
I roll my eyes, and lean back, kicking my boots on the table too. "It was completely unplanned. He's terrifying."
She leans her head back against the cushion, and says "You mean terrifyingly hot. Yeah he is. But you better watch out with that one, Zenna watches his every move." She closes her eyes for a moment, then springs up and grabs my shoulders shaking me. "I KNOW I KNOW! You can dance at the ball tonight. What dress are you wearing?" I shrug, and close my eyes.
"I was just going to wear what I have on now."
"Absolutely not. I am going to raid the kitchens, then you are going to get more sleep. You look like you got hit by a flock of geese and they relieved themselves all over you." I cringe and look at her. "Sorry." Is all she says, as she gets up and walks to the door. She opens it and turns back to me. "Seriously Kas, get some sleep. We have people to impress tonight." With that she leaves and closes the door. I didn't even need to leave the couch before I fell asleep.
