Alright, so I'm still in a manic episode (y'all ever manipulate yourself into staying in a consecutive manic phase? I. am. tired... but it's so good here).
Anyways, so the reasons song (insert song here)
I just wanna write this out because I'm having major idea flashes in my head. If DtB was ever turned into a show picture this:
*music begins playing & it's all that can be heard*
We see a shot of Penelope, the window of a car as trees etc. blur pass. (You can't really see Pen, just like a shadowy outline as the sun shines in and out of trees and off water etc). There's a sense of longing and mystery. You can probably catch a glimpse of Pen clutching a note desperately. You see the Seaton City sign, and how the buildings grow (a nice coastline shot). We watch Penelope's back for a minute as she walks slowly towards the building. Probably a cool shot as the camera circles around Pen, looking up at the towering buildings—the sun still making it hard to see Penelope clear. Then she reaches the dorm building—the sun glistening off the glass as she pulls the door open and the scene transitioning as the chorus hits, starting the theme thing shows have—names and pictures of important people (maybe in a photograph sorta thing that's burning and then dunked into water). A couple shots of the OG note. Flickers of different things: Lots of water and bubbles. Waves and splashes or whatever. Flowers being destroyed and some shots of blood splatters. Money. Police lights. Shots of the carnival and the eerie lights etc. Shadows of people kissing (like creative shots where you can't see faces or who is who). News headlines. Just like a creative chaos of darkness. It would combine the chorus with the ending of the song (so it's short and sweet). The colouring/filter for the show would mostly be a deep blue/green — very mysterious and dark.Don't mind me, just turning into a production master. 😌 someone make this happen. Write to wattpad and be like, it's cool, you don't even need to hire a producer cuz the author is a freaking GENIUS.
And then after the theme song it's like a black screen with a "3 months earlier" written out in a replica of how the dare website font will be like later on. It could open with police lights, Penelope kind of numb (all the sounds muted with a lay over muffled kind of sound... kinda like being underwater) as she watches her parents cry etc. the police talking about the situation in the background. I feel like Penelope would then begin a voice over, telling the audience what's going on in her own words—maybe as if she's talking to Millie. You'd watch days and nights blur into one another as she talks (the hope slowly disappearing from her parents eyes, maybe them all fighting a bit more, mother becoming depressed, Penelope desperate as hell and mad etc etc etc)—just really quick snapshots of the days after Millie went missing. Until it lands on the note. Then time would slow down again as we see Penelope see it and slowly open it (the anticipation, of course, almost painful). And as the note is opened, you'd see Millie as if she's in the room with her—lounging on furniture casually, smiling and whatever. And she'd be talking directly to Penelope, of course—maybe Penelope interacting with her back as she asks her questions (getting no clear answers from her since Millie's only actually saying the words from the note). And I feel like a lot of scenes would do that—with Millie seemingly right there with her.. like every scene I mentioned Penelope needing to be more like Millie, in this (completely made up) show it would be like Millie is tempting her and guiding her. And lighting effects would be played around with—like you can't see Millie SUPER clear due to the refraction of light (thus making it easier for her to disappear abruptly but eerily too whenever the scenes change).
Anyways, and then after that note part (and the school calling right after), as Pen dyes her hair we'd see a flashback of her when she was eight, butchering her hair. (Penelope doing another talk over? Idk it somehow has to flow with the scene and seem like it has to do with Millie.) And then maybe a shot of the mirror as present day Penelope drops her hair towel. Maybe Millie being in the reflection for a moment—seeing just how similar they look etc. Their hands almost touching against the glass—transitioning to Penelope opening the door of the dorm building. *insert Penelope meeting Nina here*
Lmao anyways, I think that's all I got. But let me know if you also have any visions of what it would look like ☺️ it's so fun to imagine my books as shows don't @ me lol
Oh ya I think I'm still slightly high & overall intoxicated (so if this makes no sense, I am sorry). Apparently I turn into a director/producer/screen writer when I am as such. Hehe have a great day, lovelies ❤️❤️❤️❤️
