"What kind of braids do you want?" Colette walked towards the sofa with her hairbrush and elastics in her hands. She sat down behind Lotte, who sat on the ground. "One braid, two, three, four?" She took the hair elastic out of Lotte's hair and began to brush it.
"Whatever you feel like it," Lotte replied. "But keep it to two braids." She placed a cushion under her bum, since it was still sore.
Colette nodded. "Two Dutch braids it is," she said and made two sections in Lotte's hair.
Dinner just ended. The children were watching a film in their room; the parents still sat around the long dining table together with Mick and Gina, and Lotte and Colette moved to the living area. It wasn't a good day, it had been storming outside since this morning, and it wouldn't stop. The group had to stay inside and entertain themselves.
"Do you have online classes this week?" Colette curiously asked. "I have to check-in at half-past eight tomorrow," she sighed. "It's just for an hour but... Hate."
"Tomorrow from half-past ten to six," Lotte mentioned. "Copywriting, English and project. I can't skip copywriting and project, but English is between them. But yeah, I decided to be here, so I have to deal with the consequences. I'm calling in sick tomorrow for the rest of the week." Lotte was German, but went to university in the Netherlands.
"Me too. I hate how advanced the technology is, not gonna lie."
"You're sick, and they ask you to tune in online. Don't call me for it. If I'm sick, I sleep."
"Until you skip it," Colette smirked.
"They don't know that." Lotte took a deep breath. "What do you have tomorrow?"
"German. We're discussing the exam we made last week."
"What did you get?"
"3.6." A 3.6 was equal to 55-59 out of 100 points.
"Co! German is your first language, how did you do this?"
Colette put an elastic in Lotte's hair once she finished the first braid. "I passed it, so hush. I'm German, but it doesn't mean I have this under control. I suck at grammar. Can't wait to go to uni." Colette continued talking about her vision of school.
The eyes of Lotte shot to the dining table when she heard something that made her frown.
"Oh, is that Aimee?" Gina asked in a cheeky tone when Mick was smiling at his phone. "How is that going?"
It became silence around the table. However, Colette didn't stop talking. Lotte managed to focus on the words that were being said at the table. Who is Aimee?
Mick put his phone away. "We're just friends," he said.
"Hmm-hmm," Gina nodded and raised her eyebrows.
"Your face is telling a different story," Henry teased. Henry always had a good bond with Mick, so he knew he could say this.
"She just got home. I'm just checking she got home safely," Mick replied.
"Adorable," Gina smirked.
Henry gasped for air. "Aimee from Stefan and Annie?"
"Yes," Corinna and Gina said. "They found each other again."
People began to laugh, but Mick just awkwardly laughed it away.
Aimee from Stefan and Annie? Lotte squeezed her eyebrows together. Aimee was the daughter of Stefan and Annie, a mutual friend of the group. Lotte thought Mick and Aimee were different from each other, they were not meant to be as a couple.
