Rafe Sadler one shots

The Feast

I smiled as I hummed my gentle tune as I did my embroidery on the window seat looking out to the courtyard of our house, I saw a light in the darkness and I smiled widely waiting excitedly the moment the door opened I jumped into his arms

"whoa! Hello y/n" Rafe laughs hugging me too

"I missed you"

"I missed you too, I'm sorry I'm so late back"

"It's alright I know your busy" I smiled tugging him into our little house "what did you do today?"

"I did so much today y/n, honestly I don't even wanna go over it, what did my little angel do today?

"I did some embroidery, the laundry, and a few other bits"

"Awww buys girl" He smiled sitting with me "ummm it's been a long day, I like having such a beautiful girl to come home to" She smiled giving me a kiss

"Well you should have some time off soon, I hope"
"I hope so too" He smiled "ooh thinking of which" he reached into his pocket and handed me an envelope with the beautiful penmanship across the cream envelope

"Can I open it?" I giggled

"Of course you can" He smiled going to make himself a cup of tea I giggled and opened it reading the little letter

"We've invited to a feast! The king's feast! how did we-"
"He likes me, he was going to invite Cromwell but he's going home to spend time with Gregory so the two of us are going to the king's feast" He smiled

"why didn't you tell me earlier! I need to work on a good dress!"

"You're dresses are so beautiful though you don't need to worry" He smiled "You will look more beautiful than the queen my darling"

"I need to work Rafe!" I said grabbing my sewing kit

I sat nervously in my new dress at the large table I was scared a little seeing the king and his new queen the lords and ladies all sat at the table enjoying the feast I grabbed my goblet of Hippocras sipping it nervously, the table overflowing with food wine and Hippocras staff everywhere taking care of everyone. I was beyond nervous seeing everyone around me

"Master Sadler, you have a very beautiful bride you should bring her to court more often" lord samson smiled

"Thank you very much, I should bring her along more your right" Rafe smiled holding my hand

"You got lucky Sadler" lord Lucas smirked

"I did I got extremely lucky" He smiled at me winking a little at me" I smiled

"I'm sure soon you'll be extending your family" the king smirked at us "with such a beautiful wife I'm sure it won't be long" he smirked

"Not long at all" he smirked at me
