Writing Lessons

I gathered my things and headed through the dark house, heading across the dark wooden halls. I reached the office and knocked twice firmly. 

"Come in" He calls from inside so I smiled and headed inside the room, The large office with the fireplace in the centre close to the door the large table used for business deals and paperwork, a bookshelf full of books and paperwork, and the desk close to the back wall, the windows shut up the curtains and shutters pulled tight keeping the darkness from engulfing the room completely, the fire low and very few candles lit the room, At the desk sat Rafe my father's ward, sat in the chair. And of course, as he is my father's ward he was currently elbow-deep in my father's paperwork. He looked up and saw me a smile breaking across his face.

"Awww Hello" He smiled 

"Hi" I smiled coming over and taking a chair so I could sit beside him "Writing time"

"I know, Let me just finish this letter off" he smiled 

"No worries" I smiled giving him a kiss before I took my seat on the chair, he smiled and got on with writing his letter as I put my book down on the desk watching him work 

"Alright all done," he says putting his papers away and leaving the desk open he took some of my papers and we got rather snug moving our chairs as close as possible "Now, you did your work?"

"I did" I smiled handing over my work

"Ummm very good, You're doing so much better" He smiled "Still struggling with G's"

"They're hard to do" I pouted

"I know it okay" He cooes "Right do a line of G's for me, then we'll go from P okay"

I nodded and got my quill slowly doing a line of the letter G and then doing a line Of the letter P then doing a line of the letter Q

"Careful, you don't need the flicks so big on the letters" he laughs "See smaller" He explained doing the letter Q as an example 

"Smaller" I nodded doing the flick a little smaller like his example 

"That's better" He smiled giving my cheek a kiss "You're getting it"

"I'm trying"

"You're doing good, you are" he smiled holding my hand giving it a gentle kiss "It's alright, you're learning"

"I seem to be taking a long time"

"You can take as long as you need, it's no problem" He smiled "Every writing lesson you get a little bit better" he smiled "Soon you'll be able to leave me notes in beautiful calligraphy"

"Why would I be leaving you notes?"

"I don't know, what do you want me to buy at the market? what time you'll be back from the laundry? if you want me to come to our chamber to put a little baby in your belly" 

"Ummm, I don't think I'd need much info on a note about that you usually take anything I write as an indication to come up to our bed chamber"

"I just like our chamber, and I'm not turning down any opportunity to go up there especially when I can snuggle you" he cooes kissing my head as I finish my letters "Now give me a practice sentence"

"Alright Rafe" I smiled 

"Sphinx of black quartz, judge my vow" I smiled as I wrote it out 

"Good girl" he cooes "Very good, that's enough for today's lesson"

"Any homework?"

"No, no homework tonight. instead how about you and I head up to our bed chamber and I give my lovely little lady a reward for working do hard?"

"alright rafe" I smiled giving him a kiss taking my papers and heading to the door "I'll be waiting, but you finish your work first"

"I will" he smiled blowing me a kiss before I left
