I stood with my master cromwell as he looked out the window and watched the king moving across the garden with his group of lordly boys, I sighed slightly leaning on the stone pillar beside the window looking into the hall covered in luxious tapestries and large lead lined windows, the intricate tiled floors and people passing by. As I was looking I saw the young new queen and her entourage of ladies her family members and the other ladies she had around her. And I saw a familiar sight the young Lady y/n langford, in her long royal blue dress with black lace and details, a square top with gentle lace around her chest holding and slightly squeezing her large chest tightly so much the curve of them was obvious where they held her so tight, her hair in tight sweet curls, hidden with a matching blue headband and sheer black veil to cover her hair, she saw me looking at her and she smiled at me gently waving, I smiled back and waved too she giggled a little and put her hands on her dresses pockets I assumed she was going to continue the conversation the other ladies where having, but she giggled a little more and lifted her dress a little until she exposed her little black shoes, her white stockings and the hint of the frills of her undergraments all snuggled so perfectly around the pale skin barely an inch square of her ankle. I was agasp in shock. I looked around quickly making sure not a soul saw this but me as I'd they did she would surely have been branded a whore and struck from the palace. The ladies moved on so she returned her dress how it was and walked along with the women.
Ummmm my lady y/n.
I had long desired the young lady back when she was still a y/l/n, her father demanded she marry into the great family of langford from the north she married him of course not wanting to upset her family or position at court, even if... Her and I had been courting secretly for a number of years, she liked teasing me knowing now that due to her marriage we could not proceed in the matter, even if that may have not been the first time I had seen her ankle... And much more so then that, even if I had desired much much more.
"You alright Master Sadler?" Cromwell asked me
"Ohh uhh yes sir I was, meerly thinking quietly to myself" I lied
"I could be mistaken master Sadler but I believe, she likes you" he laughs
"Perhaps my lord" I smiled
"The lady langford"
"Indeed"
"Very well, do excuse me I have some paperwork to attend to" he says before going down the corridor to attend to some business, I stayed as I was looking down the corridor that the ladies went down still seeing that blue dress as she was at the back of the parade of ladies, watching the bueles of her skirts and petticoats move as she walked down the hallowed castle halls.

I sat in the office reading thought the letters we had into the office but richard burst in with yet another letter "it's urgent my lord"
"I see" cromwell nodded taking it, he read it though and looked with a strange expression that read of both joy and sorrow. "The lord langford is dead." He says
"My goodness" richard spoke up "does it say how?"
"Fell from his horse, onto a stone in the courtyard at there home, dead in his bed by the nightfall" he explained
Richard left to proceed with other business I tried to only look apon the fire not wishing to show my expression "it seems your... Little lady, is now a widow"
"So it would seem" I nodded trying to hide my joy.

I sat on my horse as we trotted along the paths and lines of this place with cromwell on his horse beside me "my lord? May I ask something?"
"Why do you ask me?"
"Well... Give my father being so far away you well you act much like my father my lord"
"Understandable rafe, are you in need of fatherly wisdom then?"
"Somewhat I suppose"
"Go on then I assume your question promotes to the lady langford"
"It might"
"Go on then"
"How uhh... How long is it appropriate to allow a young widow to grieve?"
"Well depends on the widow. Young brides not so long, widows married for many years longer his appropriate. For.... Example. Lady langford was married for three years I would estimate to give her a year to grieve" he explained
"What If, you where courting her before her marriage?"
"Then put your intentions to her, whenever you see fit. She can always refuse you and ask for longer to grieve" he explained
"Thank you my lord"

I stood at court watching the various goings on, I saw across the way y/n. In her little red dress a black shall around her shoulders. Many people went speaking to her to express there sadness over the loss of lord langford. I waited a while until people stopped going to her and I myself made my way standing beside her.
"Good evening my lady"
"Good evening master Sadler, to what do I owe the pleasure" she smiled
"I wished to uhh to express my sorrow and such for your looses my lady"
"Sorry, or joy?" She giggled
"I worry for you my lady, being a widow in this time"
"I should very much worry" she says "it's a hard trial to be a widow in this age" she says
"More so, to be a widow at your age my lady, still so beautiful, and without children to speak off" I explained
"You speak as If that's something you'd like to change Rafe?"
"Perhaps it is y/n" I smiled
"You should speak as you wish"
"Should I?"
"You should, if there are words you wish to say do not allowed them to be stuck in the back of your throat"
"I should like, if I may. To... Continue perhaps where we sat before your marriage"
"Do you?"
"I do, this time less secretly" I suggested
"This does not seem very plane master Sadler, perhaps you should meerly ask what you wish to ask"
"I should like to put to my lady that when she feels she has greived amply for your husband, I should like to make you known of my intention to marry you, if you and your family will allow me?"
"When I have greived?"
"Whenever you feel ready to be married again my lady"
"What makes you think I need so much time to greive? Perhaps I am ready to remarry now"
"Perhaps?"
"Perhaps I hated him. And perhaps had long desired his fall, and perhaps a horse can be switched out for a sicker one much easier to fall. Perhaps I am ready to marry the one I wanted to"
"Are you my lady?"
"You shall see" she smiled going somewhere else.
