Part 21 Clarity
Arnav succeeded in the mission of keeping Khushi with him. Of course, she was not sitting with him but she looked after him like anything. She came to the living room again and again and checked whether he was normal. She prepared snacks in the evening and provided them to him... with less salt. The man who never wanted anyone in his life got impressed... by his wife... by the life he never experienced before...
Arnav was glancing at her whenever she crossed the living room but Khushi didn't look at him... she was suffocating in the sensation that was overpowering her sense. The scene of Arnav pressing himself on her flashed in her mind again and again. She sat on the bed and tried to get her heartbeat normal.
Her thought got broken by the sudden calling bell sound. She rushed out before Arnav tried to get up from the sofa. Arnav saw her opening the door. Usually, no one visits his flat. She smiled seeing the Children standing. Arnav rolled his eyes.
"Didi, see, she is fighting with us for the swing again. You said you will come to the park in the evening. Are not you coming?" Rinky asked.
"Shhh... he is not feeling well..." Khushi said in a feeble tone.
"He...? Who is HE?" Pinky asked.
"Her husband..." Rehan said.
"Has he again fallen ill?" Rinky asked.
AGAIN? what does that mean? When did he fall ill before? Did she tell them about the FOOD POISONING? Arnav thought.
Pinky asked the same question that was raised in Arnav's mind because she was playing in the swing when Khushi was talking with the other children.
"He often gets ill?" Rehan asked.
"No, no, pinky, didn't he shout at us one day? That day he had a heavy headache. That's why he shouted at us. Didi told us about it when you were playing in the swing. She said uncle is so good. Hai na Didi?" Rinky asked.
Khushi looked at Arnav embarrassingly who was gulping down closing his eyes. Why is she always trying to lift him up? Why should she try to show him good in others' eyes? He doesn't know.
"Now also, he is suffering from headache?" Rehan asked.
"No... low BP"
"Oh..."
"I'm not able to come to the park now... we will meet another day. Ok?"
"Ok, Didi..."
"Bye..." Khushi said whispering.
The children also bid bye, whispering. Khushi closed the door and Arnav looked at her turning his face. Khushi stood hesitating.
"Do you want anything?"
"Coffee?"
She nodded yes and went to the kitchen. She panted hard thinking about the encounter. She should not be weak... He is ill... he lost his balance and fell on her. She should not get into something which was accidental. In fact, he is not ready for this relationship. He doesn't want to... she has been waiting for him to accept her... doesn't mean she could take his action into her head.
She poured the coffee into a cup and brought it to the living room. Arnav was laying down on the sofa to see what she was going to do.
"Arnavji..."
"Hannn..."
"Coffee..."
"Mmmm..."
He tried to get up. Khushi feared to near him. Arnav saw her standing without helping him. He didn't know how to take it. He gulped down looking at her. Keeping the coffee cup on the tea table, she helped him to sit. Arnav sat comfortably. Khushi handed the cup to Arnav. Arnav had the coffee relishing. He thought something. When he sipped the last sip of the coffee, he coughed as if he was choking. Would Khushi be quiet after that? She tapped his back softly with her right hand while lifting his head up by her left hand.
