You sighed as you pulled into the driveway. You could see Maddie's car parked up on the curb. You had to work all through Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. You were fairly tired and not in the mood for celebrating.
As you stepped into the apartment you noticed that it was quiet. Looking into the living room you spotted Buck on the sofa. "Buck?"
"Surprise! I'm your Christmas present." Buck said as he hopped up to his feet. He hurried to grab a bundle of flowers that were wrapped in clear snowflake cellophane. You smiled and laughed. "Maddie and Chimney are in the other room. They're swapping some gifts and we're going to give you a minute to unwind from work. The food is all sorted. There's drinks and your favourite christmas movies are downloaded. Plus we have all agreed to wear the matching pyjamas that you wanted us to wear."
"Thank Buck." You said as you walked over to him and gave him a hug.
"No problem. Bad enough that they made you work yesterday and today. Also I might be on emergency call, same with Chimney." Buck muttered as he squeezed you tight.
"Ok. You know what. I'm going to get in my pyjamas, we should eat while watching the movies and then open the gifts as soon as we finish because this city will not give either of us a day off even on Christmas." You said. He smiled and nodded, watching you hurry into the bedroom. He knocked on the door and gave Maddie and Chimney the pyjama you'd got for everyone.
