Love the gifter - December 2021

Buck's shift had been long. From what Maddie had texted him, you'd had a hard shift on the phones too. As he headed inside out of the cold he could hear one of the showers running. Assuming that you'd be using your ensuite shower he headed into the main bathroom and pulled his shirt off as he crossed the room.

You were stepping out of the shower, thinking that you were alone, the door opened. You grabbed the nearest thing that you could, a bottle of deodorant and sprayed it at the person while screaming.

"Ah! (Y/N) it's me! What're you doing in this bathroom? I thought you were in your bathroom!" Buck yelled as he fell to the floor and rubbed his eyes. You snatched the towel you'd laid out for yourself upon setting down the spray and turned to him.

"I thought you were an intruder! I think there's something wrong with the pipe in mine. The water won't come out." You explained in a hurry as you helped him get up. "Why're you shirtless?"

"I was going to shower and then make dinner but now I can see... Unless you like me being shirtless then, I'm a surprise gift." He added. His eyes were red and streaming. You weren't sure he could see too well as he tried to lean on the doorway and look suave but missed and nearly fell.

"Let me grab my clothes and call Maddie!" You said hurriedly. Leading him to the sofa you left him as you hurried to get dressed and rang Maddie for advice on what to do. When you explained you'd sprayed him in the eyes she had you take him to the sink and try to rinse his eyes. When he yelled and fussed she suggested taking him to the emergency room. You rushed him there and he was taken off. Maddie arrived a little while later with a shirt that you'd forgotten to grab for him in your rush.

"Really. What could explain this happening?" Maddie said though her tone sounded more amused than stern.

"Love the giver more than the gift." Buck said as he was rolled back out to the two of you.

"Seriously." Maddie said as if she was unimpressed. "Will he be ok?"

"He's fine. But should take the day off work tomorrow and come back if he has any issues but from what he said the eye rinse was very quickly used so he should be fine. But he was lucky this time and I don't recommend he gets sprayed in the face again." The doctor said,

"He won't." You assured him.

"Aw. We both have a day off. I guess you'll have to take care of me!" Buck jokes.

"The doctor said that you're fine." You pointed out and he grinned at you as he followed Maddie out to your car. "Plus we'll probably have to call someone to look at the pipes in my bathroom."

"Nah. I can fix that!" Buck insisted.

"Do not let him try and fix it. You won't have a bathroom left." Maddie said as she hugged you both. She offered to pick up takeout and swing by the apartment after she'd picked up Chimney. You both agreed and she waved you both off as you got into your car.
