Levi x Reader: Yes Sir

The Connection

It was late and the house was quiet. It had been a few months now since you first came here. Since then titans had attacked a few times. You had went on expeditions and had many losses, but your squad didn't have any. You were so afraid of losing people on your team. You knew you'd blame yourself. It seemed fair since you and Levi were the most skilled. You felt like it was your job to save everyone. You realized that you shouldn't feel that way, but you did. You had been having a harder time going to sleep lately. You and Levi had gotten closer. He started opening up around you. He talked about his past and his hopes for the future. He always seemed distant, but it made you feel special by him talking to you about things. Everyone else was asleep, but you all had just went to bed a few minutes ago. You really wanted to talk to Levi, but you also didn't want to wake him up. He slept in a different smaller room away from the rest of the squad. You decided to go see him. You quietly walked around your friends trying not to wake them. The floor boards squeaked like they always do. You make it to his room and knock. You hear a quiet, "yeah?" and say, "hey it's y/n....can I come in?" It's quiet for a few seconds then you hear sheets ruffling and his footsteps coming closer. He opens the door and his eyes meet yours. He has his usual lines under his eyes making him look tired, but you thought he looked cute that way. You say, "sorry I didn't wanna wake you up." You fiddle with your fingers nervously as he says, "you didn't." and opens the door motioning you to come in. He goes back to his bed and you sit next to him. You feel his stare on you and your heart speeds at this. He asks, "are you alright?" You look down at your hands and then at him and say, "I just can't stop thinking. These past few nights I can't sleep." He looks at you concerned and says, "what are you thinking about?" and you respond, "sometimes I just wonder what the hell we're doing. We don't know everything about the walls and the outside and yet some people feel content about it. It makes me feel crazy." he sighs quietly and moves strands of his hair out of his eyes saying, "hey that's why we're scouts. We are going to figure this out. We will find Eren's cellar and figure out what exactly we are dealing with. And look at me. You're not crazy. Anyone that's happy with the way life is right now is the crazy one." Your mouth moves into a sad smile at his words and you stare into his eyes. They are more grey now. They're pretty. You say, "thanks Levi. You're right." You mess with your hair twisting strands of it not realizing, but he does and asks, "is that all that you've been thinking about?" There's silence for a few seconds and you can hear the wind against the walls. You add, "so many of our people are dead Levi...I-I hate that I can't change that. I hate that I couldn't have helped them." your eyes well up with tears and you try to hold them back. "I'm sorry I don't know why it bothers me so much we all are sad about it. We have all lost friends, but it just- it's too much sometimes." A single tear falls down your cheek. Levi looks at you as you stare at the ground. He gently moves your chin so you're facing him. He says, "you don't need to be sorry. I understand. We all pretend like it doesn't bother us, but it does. But remember we have to make up for their losses. We have to live for them. We have to find our happiness for them." Another tear falls at his words but he wipes it away. He hasn't ever been this comforting to you and it feels good. You're also surprised by his words since he normally can be so quiet. Your heart is aching, but you also feel happy because of Levi. He always does that even when he doesn't talk to you. "Can I stay in here with you?" You look back up at him with your e/c eyes. At that he pulls you into a hug and you're enveloped by his warmth and familiar smell. He says simply, "yeah." This is the first time he's ever hugged you and you didn't realize before how much you wanted him to do so. You wrap your arms around him tighter. You both sit there like that for awhile and it is one of the most peaceful and beautiful moments you have experienced in a long time. His touch makes you feel safe and at home. You haven't felt either of those in forever. You both are getting tired and lay down. He wraps his arms around your waist and pulls your body into his. You hope he can't feel your heart racing, but you can feel his so you figure it isn't something you can hide. You feel your cheeks heat up. You hold one of his hands that's around you and fall asleep in seconds.

You and Levi are at the top of what you've heard are called mountains. The air is cold but him being beside you keeps you warm. Birds fly above you two singing sweetly. The leaves around you sing in the wind with the birds creating the most beautiful melody. You look at Levi and his hair is gently moved by the wind so you can see more of his face. He is beautiful. More beautiful than the scenery around you. You wonder, "where are we?" but you don't care where you are. You're with Levi and that's all that matters. You realize just how much you care about him. You look out from the mountain and see land and more land. There's no walls and no titans. Just the two of you. You grab his hand smiling and he gives a small smile. The sun shines brightly on you both.
