Levi x Reader: Yes Sir

The Return

He's dead. Levi's dead. They're all dead. Everyone. You heart feels like it has shattered. Your soul completely destroyed. Everything is gone. At this point you don't see the purpose in anything at all. The man disappeared along with the syringe. Levi stopped breathing a few minutes ago and all you can do is lay there next to him crying. You did it again. You let them die. All of them.

The squad reaches the house safely. Somehow by some miracle Levi, Y/n, and Eren are safe. Armin stops the horses. Connie says, "we're here." Everyone gets off of the wagon and Jean carries y/n into the house. Levi stumbles inside never leaving y/n's side. Eren had his arm around Mikasa as they went in too. Everyone was safe sure, but not in great shape. Armin helped Mikasa tend to Eren's wounds.
Mikasa asks, "you okay Eren?"
He responds, "yeah I'm not too bad. They didn't do much to me...left me alone in that room, but I could hear Levi and y/n. It sounded bad. It's all my fault. That only happened because of me."
Mikasa gives him a cold look. "Don't say that you know that's not true."
He turns to Armin for defense and Armin says, "Technically the situation was caused by the interior police wanting Eren so in a sense he's part of the reason, but Eren at the end of the day it isn't your fault."
Eren clearly wanted to be judged at this moment. Whether it was because of a large amount of survivor's guilt he's carrying, or another reason. On the other side of the room which was dimly lit, Sasha is kneeling beside y/n with Levi. "Should we wake her up?" she asks and Levi responds, "I don't think we will need to."
The others walk over. Connie says, "We have to take that knife out."
There's a prolonged silence. No one wants to do it. It's not like they are doctors or anything. Connie turns pale. "I'm going to go outside." He sprints outside clearly about to be sick. Some of the others follow him not wanting to see the incident transpire. Armin, Eren, Levi, and Sasha remain by y/n's side. She is laying on an old couch that needs a good dusting. Levi would take care of that soon...naturally. Y/n is still pale in color and is sweating. They assume it's from the pain, but Levi explains it's probably from the drug the man gave her. He tells them briefly what happened. They all have tense looks and contemplate the situation.
"Anyway...I can do it" Levi says. The others' eyes widen. Sasha exclaims, "I'll get the extra bandages and antiseptics." Sasha was decent at first aid so she sometimes liked to help in times like these. She returns and Levi gently grasps the knife in y/n's thigh. Eren says, "maybe do it quick Captain."
Levi scoffs clearly already knowing what was best to do. He quickly, but carefully takes the knife out of her leg having to use a lot of effort to do so. Y/n's eyes snap open and she calls out in pain. Just as fast as she is awake she is back out cold. The others help to wrap the leg and other wounds she had.

Levi bandages the few cuts he has and looks in the mirror. He notices the dark circles under his eyes. He wonders to himself, "when was the last time I slept?" He sets the thought aside. The rest of the squad was asleep now and a candle lit the living room area. Y/n was still on the only couch in the room. Everyone else was sleeping on the ground on blankets, quilts, and pillows. He quietly walks over to y/n. He sits down on the edge beside her. She looked like she was constantly having a nightmare. Levi wished she would wake up. Hesitantly at first, he takes her hand into his. He looks over her features. Her face was now covered in bruises and that made him full of anger. He wishes he could've stopped the man. Levi eventually falls asleep at the end of the couch sitting up, but still close to y/n.

The squad, besides Levi and y/n were outside monitoring the area and training every now and then which was mostly them just hanging out. They needed the break. Levi was still asleep on the couch near y/n.

Your eyes slowly open. The light of the room is so bright. Your leg aches. You look around and see you're in the house. Then you remember everything. You sit up quickly which wakes Levi. He looks over at you and says, "hey you're awake-"
You stare at him.
"Levi?"
He looks back at you and says, "yeah it's me. Are you okay?"
Your eyes begin to fill with tears and you fling yourself onto him wrapping your arms around his neck. You start crying failing to hold the tears back. "You were dead Levi....e-everyone was dead."
Levi, shocked by your actions at first, wraps his arms around you.
"It wasn't real y/n. It was from the drug. It was a hallucination."
"But....it was so real" you gasp for air in between your crying, "I couldn't save you. I saw you die and I couldn't do anything."
Levi frowns and holds you tighter.
"It's over now okay?"
You sigh trying to calm yourself and bury your head into his neck. He runs his fingers through your hair trying to comfort you. You felt like you were losing your sanity. You saw him die and yet here he is. It wasn't real. You suddenly feel such a great sense of relief. It's okay. You're okay and so is everyone else. That means Eren, Armin, Jean, Mikasa, Sasha, and Connie...they're all alive too. You say to Levi afraid you won't get the chance to say it again, "I'm so glad you're alive."
He says, "I'm glad you're alive too y/l/n"
