When God first created everything, he created it to be good. A world without sin or evil, but things didn't work out that way. Samael, the light ringer fell from grace and became Lucifer. God saw what was to become of the world and forbid sin from his heavenly domain.
God created man and gave them life, but they were corrupted. As punishment God created death. Years later God had a new idea. To create a world with the peace he'd give humanity a spark of divinity. He started slow. He knew it would take time to adjust.
He didn't hear the cries of all those who suffered from this decision.
Izuku Midoriya, a pure soul worth of heaven. Taken from the mortal world too soon. By his own hand no less. God's rules dictate that sinners aren't allowed in Heaven and suicide is one of the worst sins of all.
Yet a soul that pure isn't fit for Hell. Stuck between the two worlds someone found him. Death. Without anywhere for him to go Death offered him a job. To work with him.
He accepted.
Since that day a new reaper was born into the world. Even as they cling into life, their purpose is clear. For the innocent, they are salvation. For the sinners, that are damnation.
Don't fear the reaper. He is already here.
