When Izuku was younger he and his sister were always waiting to get their quirks and become heroes together. Though Izuku never mentioned this he always thought something about the world was weird. I mean, quirks are basically superpowers that everyone has. It's like it's straight out of a comic book. Maybe because it is.
When Izuku was 4 years old he started to notice things he has never seen before. Occasionally a box would pop up in the air detailing what he was doing. Well more like narrating it. When his mother dropped something downstairs he visibly saw the word "Thunk" appear and disappear along with the sound. When people spoke he'd see bubbles containing their speech for him to read. The same thing happened when people thought things. Was this his quirk?
He was brought to the quirk doctor a week before his sister was and his quirk was given the name "Mental Reader" since he literally read thoughts. Izuku thought this would be the end of what he could do, that is until the first day he grabbed at the pannels. He was shocked out of it, not wanting to believe he did what he thought he did. After calming himself he reached out to where he could feel the pannels resided and grabbed them.
In an attempt to better understand the situation Izuku used a nearby pencil and broke the barrier between pannels and in an instant he could see himself. All just a moment into the future. Soon after everything fixed itself and he could no longer see into his own future. He wanted to believe that it wasn't real, that it was his overactive imagination. Yet he just couldn't.
He needed to know. Telling himself that it was just one last check he reached out and toughed the pannels. Still not believing what he was seeing he pulled himself towards where he could feel the opening was and what he saw astounded him. It looked like pages but they detailed his own life, even what he was doing that very moment!
He looked out and saw many pages going off in a road out into the distance. He noticed books floating around, both of them with the title "The Unbelievable Deku" with a volume number. A little image at the bottom said "Fanfiction of Kohei Horikoshi's work My Hero Academia" There was only one with the cover showing him at UA with Izumi and another with him, Izumi, and some kind of black buff bird monster. There was one more but the cover was blank beside the title and the volume number.
It took him a while for everything to set in but when it did he realized the true gravity of the situation. He was right. He is in a comic book, well manga, and these were books detailing his life and from the cover, he's either the main character or Izumi is. When that settled in the gray book started to scare him a lot more. Is that the end of their story? What will happen after that? Will they die? Or just be erased?
In desperation to know the truth he grabbed the book and flipped through it. Wanting to know what was going to happen but did not want to know too much about his future. He flipped till he found where the pages just stopped. Just blank pages. Did his creator give up on him? No, because in the blink of an eye the next page started to be slowly filled with another pannel showing him after the sports festival hanging out with people he saw from the cover of the other book.
He wasn't forgotten. This book is mostly blank because it's still being written! He's not going to be erased, he still has time. With that, he closed the book, contempt in the knowledge he was going to be okay. He could still exist. Izuku spent many hours in that place he called the gutter space. Hours spent thinking about everything he learned about his world and the place he had in it. He knows he's not the original. He knows that much from the graphic on the right of the cover page showing he was a fanfiction.
With time he thought more and more about this and what this meant for him. Eventually, he came to the final answer that he was still going to be a hero even if it was what his author wrote him to do. He hopped back into where he was before, vowing to himself to make the most of every panel.
Quirk: Medium interaction
He knows he's in a fanfiction design like manga and can interact with the panels and everything else designed for the readers to understand the world.Ship: Unknown/None/Harem/Izumi
Unknown since maybe the author didn't want one. Harem because it's based on a Japanese anime. None because the writer doesn't want to follow the trope and Izumi because we all know there are some people who are into that kind of manga.A/N: I don't intend to write this one. Mainly because I don't know how to draw and I feel that this type of story can only be truly appreciated in its intended medium. Maybe if I can figure out how to make a story like this I will, but for now, I have no intentions of making this.
