The blood. The screams. Why did I need to watch this? How does this pertain to my training?

"He won't talk. Put him in the pit. To!"

"Yes sir?"

"Clean this up."

They dragged him away, kicking, screaming.

I woke with a start, my alarm blaring. I quickly shut it off as I got up and dressed in something more appropriate for the commons area. I ate breakfast with Shokya, trying to ignore all the questions about my date with Bakugo.

When we got to class, pro hero Midnight was there.

"Hello, class. Today is a very important day."

"Is it another test?" one of the boys asked.

"Even better. Today you will be choosing your hero names!" I looked around the room for Mr. Aizawa. There, behind the podium. A big, yellow blob. He was napping. That was so him.

"Shokya! You're up first." Shokya approached the podium with the piece of paper Midnight gave us.

"My hero name is Whisper. I guess it's the only name that goes with my quirk."

"Mysterious, but fitting. Perfect."

She went through a few more people, then it was my turn.

"My name is Slik. It's rearranged from the word silk, which is what I call the fabrics that come from my wrists, because they remind me of aerial silks. I spent a lot of time practicing them in America."

"Hm. A name that comes from your quirk and your past. But it implies that you can make unpredictable moves."

"She can!" Shokya shouted. "Ask any of the training teachers. Not even they can predict what she'll do next. And she's really good with her silks."

"Alright. That's your hero name. Slik."

(-)

"Hey, Slik." It was Bakugo.

"How'd you know my hero name?"

"People talk. I've seen you in training classes these past few weeks. Have you had some kind of previous training?" Damnit. I have to lie again. Maybe I can get by with a half lie.

"I've used them a lot, my whole life. It's something I enjoy doing, and using them makes them stronger. They're like muscles."

"Cool. So our class is eating in the garden. You wanna come meet everyone?"

"Um, sure." An idea struct me. "Can I bring a friend?" He palmed his forehead.

"Is it the girl who bombarded me?"

"No. It's the girl I mentioned the other day, Shokya. She's from America and is pretty much lost, like me."

"Fine. Grab her and meet us in front of our dorm." He started to walk away.

"Um, Bakugo?"

"What?"

"I don't know where your dorm is."

"Um, then meet us in front of the school." And he ran off.

"I'm so excited! We're having dinner with upperclassmen!"

"I don't see the big deal. They're just people."

"Were you home schooled as a kid?"

"Something like that."

"Then that makes sense. Upperclassmen are like celebrities. At least, here in Japan they are. I don't know why."

"Hey losers!"

"And that would be Bakugo."

"Yeah, I've heard he's a bit... much"

"Be nice to the underclassmen." It was him. The boy with the mysterious eyes.

"Shut up, Icy Hot. I'll do what I want."

"Sorry about him." It was the girl I saw on the first day of school. Yaoyorozu. "I'm Yaoyorozu Momo, but you can call me Yao-momo."

"I'm Kyoka Jiro. Word of advice, avoid the tiny guy with balls on his head." I looked down and saw him gawking and mumbling incoherently.

".....underclassmen.....vulnerable"

"Um, I think I'll take you up on that." The rest introduced themselves until there were three left.

"I'm Katsuki Bakugo, but you already knew that. I'm the only one who really matters out of this entire group." Mysterious smacked the back of his head. While they bickered, the other introduced himself.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya. You can call me Deku." So this was Deku. "You look shocked."

"Yeah, from the stories I've heard I just figured you would be... bigger? Bulkier?" He laughed

"Yeah, everyone seems to think that."

"Sorry about him. He gets out of control sometimes." Finally, I was going to learn his name. I'd forgotten to keep track of everyone who had already introduced themselves. "I'm Shoto Todoroki." My mind went blank.

Shoto Todoroki. Son of Endeavor. Caused a lot of mischief. Solved a lot of mischief. Girls love him. Boys envy him.

"I think Ki is a little overwhelmed. She's pretty shy. I'm Shokya. No need for a family name. Ki and I are from America." She nudged my ribs.

"Um, yeah. I'm Toshinowa Itzuki. I'd prefer if you called me Ki, but I don't really care. Just don't call me Toshi or To."

"Got it." Todoroki was the first to speak up. "Ki. Now let's eat. I'm starving."
