Chapter 3

Maya's POV

We sat down at one of the tables at the library. I sat down next to Lucas and Riley sat next to Farkle. Riley smiled at me noticing that I was sitting next to Lucas and I glared back, but we both laughed and the boys looked confused.

"How do you guys do that weird talking thing with your eyes?" Farkle asked

"Yea, it's really creepy." Lucas said

We all laughed. Riley grabbed one of her books out of her bag and handed us all papers.

"Ok, so Farkle and I will look for the first five books and Maya and Lucas will look for the last five books." Riley said

"Why aren't you and Maya looking together?" Farkle asked

"You don't want me to be your partner?" Riley asked

"What?! No! Of course Farkle does! Let's go Riley!" Farkle said pulling Riley's arm behind a book shelf

"Ok" I said standing up "we need to find this book first." I said

"Ok, let's go." Lucas smiled

We started walking around the the library looking for our first book. I found it.

"Lucas!" I shouted

"Shhhh!" The librarian said

"Maya, shut up." Lucas laughed

I laughed with him and then pointed to the book.

"Found it." I smirked

"That's what you yelled across the library for?" Lucas smiled

"I needed you to come over here." I giggled

Lucas smiled then looked up at where the book I pointed to is. He looked down at me.

"Maya?" He asked

"Yea." I said

"How are we gonna get that?" Lucas asked pointing to the book

"Try that chair!" I yelled

"Shhhh!" The librarian said

"Oh shut up." I mumbled

Lucas laughed and I walked over to grab the chair. I stood up on it and so did Lucas, but we still couldn't reach it.

"Well that didn't work." Lucas said

"Yeah, I know." I said rolling my eyes

"I'll lift you up!" Lucas shouted excitedly

"Really your not gonna yell at him?!" I asked

"Shhhhh!" The librarian said

"Really?" I said

Lucas laughed and rolled his eyes at me.

"Sorry, what did you say?" I asked

"I'll lift you up so you can grab the book." Lucas suggested

"Ok, but I swear if you drop me I'll -"

"Maya." Lucas said softly

"Yea yea I know 'I won't drop you'." I mocked and rolled my eyes

"Ready?" He asked grabbing my waist with his hands

It honestly felt good. I felt butterflies when he touched me.

"Yep." I said trying not to blush

He lifted me up to the shelf below where the book was.

"I need to get higher." I said

"Ok." Lucas said

He moved one of his hands to my butt to lift me higher. I blushed and gasped a little when he did.

"Sorry." Lucas said

I looked down quickly to see his face get pink. Was he blushing?

"It's fine." I said

I just grabbed the book and as I was about to tell Lucas, I heard Riley.

"Wow. Why is Lucas's hand on your butt?" Riley asked

I guess she startled both of us because Lucas started to move and he dropped me and I fell on top of him. Riley smiled and got her phone out and took pictures of us.

"Sorry, I really didn't mean to drop you." Lucas apologized blushing

"It's ok." I giggled

"What's happening here?" Farkle asked approaching us

"Aren't they SO cute!" Riley cheered showing Farkle the photos

"Yeah!!! So cuuuuute!" Farkle mocked

Lucas, Farkle, and I laughed while Riley playfully rolled her eyes at us. I got up off of Lucas and he got up to.

"Well, at least we got the book." Lucas smiled and I held up the book

"That's it?" Riley asked

"What do you mean?" I asked confused

"Farkle and I finished while you two were having fun over here." Riley giggled

Yeah, I guess we were having fun.
