Chapter 5

Maya's POV

We got out of Farkle's car and walked up to the football field. We got there kinda early so that we could get seats. Our football games get pretty packed.

"I can't wait for the game to start!" Riley squealed

"Why?" Farkle asked

"She likes seeing all the hot guys run around in their football uniforms." I said

Riley playfully rolled her eyes at me.

"Not just that, but we're are here to support Lucas too." Riley said

"Yeah, woohoo!" I said sarcastically

"Maya, chill." Farkle said putting his arm around my shoulders

"Move the hand Farkle." I said

He quickly removed his arm and Riley and I laughed. A few minutes went by and the teams came out on the field to warm up a little more before the game. More and more people started coming in and I started getting hungry.

"I'm gonna get some popcorn." I said standing up

"Yay!" Riley cheered

"Hurry up." Farkle laughed

I stood up and walked off of the stands and went over to the snack bar. I ordered my popcorn and waited there while they made it. I turned around and someone bumped into me. Wow they have a REALLY hard chest.

"Woah, I'm so sorry." the guy said

He put out his hand for me to take it. I grabbed his hand and stood up. Oh, he's wearing a football uniform, that's why his chest was so hard.

"Hey, I'm Zayn." He said

"I'm Maya." I said

"I'm really sorry about bumping into you." he apologized

"It's okay," I looked at his uniform " are you playing?" I asked

"Oh yea! Sorry I have to go warm up, but I'll see you after the game?" He said

"Yea, sure." I said

"Great! See ya cutie!" He yelled as he ran onto the field

I blushed and walked back to the snack bar to grab my popcorn. I walked back into the stands and sat down in between Riley and Farkle.

"Maya! Where were you? We were starting to get worried!" Riley said hugging me then taking some popcorn

"I wasn't gone that long Riles." I said

"Yea but still, where were you?" Riley asked

"I was talking to this guy-"

"Ahhhhhhhhh!" Riley squealed

"Riley what are you doing? You gave me a heart attack!" Farkle said

"Yeah me too." I said

"Sorry, but, you never talk about boys with me. Well besides uncle Josh, but I don't care about him. Tell about this guy!" Riley squealed

"Okay fine as long as you stop doing that scream thing." I said

"Yeah." Farkle agreed

"Ok ok I'll stop, now tell me!" She said happily

"Well his name was Zayn and he was wearing his football uniform and he called me a cutie." I said sighed happily

"Omg! You have a crush!" Riley screamed

"Riley!" Farkle and I said

"Sorry." she giggled

We laughed at her excitement and she was about to say something but the announcer came on saying the game was about to start.

"Maya, what color was his uniform?" Farkle asked

"Blue, why?" I said

"That means he plays for our rival's team." Farkle said

Uh oh. Our school's rival team? Well, I mean it can't be that bad right?

"Okay, so what? I mean that doesn't mean he's a jerk like the rest of his team." I said

Last year, their team came to our school and bubble wrapped everything as a prank before a big game against them. Our schools have been rivals ever sense.

"Just don't tell Riley, she'll go crazy." Farkle laughed

"Got it." I giggled

We won!!!!! Yay! I guess coming to the game was kinda fun. Riley, Farkle, and I ran off of the stands and went to look for Lucas. When he spotted us he ran over to us with a big cute smile on his face. What?

"Hey guys!" He said

"Hey! Lucas you did a great job!" Riley said

"Yea dude." Farkle said

They all turned to me. I smiled at him.

"You did a great job, Huckleberry." I smiled

"Thanks Maya." he smiled

"Awwwwwww." Riley cooed

"Group hug!" Farkle said

They hugged and I just stood them staring at them.

"Come on Maya!" Riley said

"Cowboy just finished paying in a football game. I don't want his sweat on me!" I said

They released the hug and Lucas smirked at me. Oh no. He started walking closer to me.

"Get her Lucas!" Riley and Farkle shouted

"Ahhhh!" I shouted running away

Lucas started chasing me as Riley and Farkle laughed. Riley took out her phone and stared recording, but I was too busy running to care.

"Maya! I'm faster than you, I'm gonna catch you!" Lucas shouted from behind me

"Oh no you won't cowboy!" I yelled

I started to get tired and I started slowing down. I felt a big pair of arms come around me from behind and I screamed.

"Got you." Lucas said into my ear

I got chills by the way he said it with his husky voice. Riley and Farkle cane running over to us laughing their heads off. Lucas is still holding me and now we're all laughing.

"Hey! Maya!" Zayn said running over to us

He's still in his uniform. Uh oh.
