Ella's POV
Life is basically like a tree. It has many branches that lead to many possible outcomes and changes. There is happiness, there is sadness, there is chaos, there is depression and many more...
People believe that in order to create changes or to be led in the desirable outcomes, you have to go through some situations in life. There is a lot of controversy whether in which circumstance you have to be in. Others believe that when you are in the middle of success or when everything is organised or planned is the perfect opportunity to make a change, right? It makes perfect sense but I have to say that without a doubt... I totally disagree.
To my mind changes happen when you need to make them. When the circumstances force you to do them and that is when everything is in chaos...
In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity. I think I saw this quote in a history book about a chinese general? Sun Tzu; I presume was his name, and he said some interesting facts.
In life you succeed when you go through changes, hardships and in general, in every people's definition, chaos. I do assume that life changes when it needs to be changed. When it's forced, basically and I can back it up that with many examples which I'm not going to list right now and I don't really think you want to hear them.
People become stronger when they are changed through that circumstances so that's what I'm going to do, whatever happens here, I'm going to move on and since it's my first day at work I will keep that in mind.
But as far as I can see right now my thoughts fly out of the window with what I'm seeing in front of me.
"So Ella this is Mrs. Emerald! She is the head housekeeper!" I hear Mr. Kingston saying with all enthusiasm but I can't really focus on anything right now as I'm a little bit freaking out over the sight behind Mrs Emerald.
The maids are running everywhere in the laundry area with towels packed on bags, yelling and trying to put the dirtying ones in the giant-enormous washing machine. This is not a workplace, this is a warzone. Definitely...
I'm going to be working here and I don't know how I feel about this. Should I think about going back to waitressing? No, I shake my head at the thought. I'm not going to freak out.
I put on a smile and give my hand for a shake. "Nice to meet you Ma'am. I'm Ella and I look forward to be working with you."
She nods and smiles. By her looks I think she is around late fifties or early sixties but I can say for her age she looks great. Her blonde hair and her hazel eyes give away that in her early days was stunning.
"I hope we can work together well as I didn't have great past assistants, thanks to Mr. Macbain here." She gives away with an ironic stare to Mr. Kingston. I can see by the corner of my eye the blushing in Mr. Kingston's cheeks. Oh...someone got busted. I guess her past assistants weren't as great. Ok Ella, you got this.
"Ok then, I'll be going now" says Mr. Kingston in a hurry manner and leaves."What a scary cat." she shakes her head with disappointment. I like her attitude, so carefree. Anyone would think that she is the manager and not Mr. Kingston. I wouldn't be surprised if she actually was, honestly.
"Ella as you are not working officially for the next two days and you start on the 1st, you will only stay for two hours today and tomorrow just for training so I can show you your responsibilities as my assistant." She smiles.I nod for reassurance but I can feel a stare at me. I look behind Mrs. Emerald and I realise almost all of the maids are gone and I see only two big blue eyes staring at me intensively. Mrs. Emerald looks at my concerned expression and turns around. "Ohh that's Cane. He works as a waiter in the main restaurant. Cane this is Ella. My new assistant."
