Zach's Pov

I always thought that as long I can do whatever I wanted, I would never have any regrets whatsoever.
My life was always a constant reminder of that and I was pretty proud of that. I would never change any of my choices even the bad ones because I learned from them and built the person I am today. I'm aware that what you give in life, you get in the end. That's how things work.

That's how life works and sometimes I'm afraid of that.

I'm afraid of the mistakes of the past that will come after me and ruin me just like Ikarus who chased the sun.

Karma is messed up and I know sooner or later I'm going to pay for the wrongs that I consciously did.

I won't let that put me down. I'm ready for anything that may want to hurt me and I will face it. I'm stubborn and hot-headed and that is the reason why I never give up when I have an eye on something. For the moment my whole being and focus is on nothing else but her.

She has something that makes me go after her even if after the many turn-downs. I don't know what got into me to say some stupid stuff like the 'one' in her infirmary.

What the heck was I thinking?!

"Zach! Are you done polishing? I need help to clean some tables up." Fair mattered firmly pulling me out of my daydream.

"Yeah... be out in a minute." I signed frustrated.

I'm not going to lie but when Maitre said that I was going to be his daughter's assistant I was terrified. I mean come on I didn't know how she was as a person, what would I do if she tall-tellers on me and lose my job?

That would be so messed up...

Eventually, though, after a few days I finally understood that she is nothing like her dad. Easy-going and very manageable to work with and pretty much enjoy working with her besides when she is angry. Believe me you don't want to be near her when she is pissed. I'm glad up until now I wasn't at the end of any of her glares. I probably would have been found dead in a matter of seconds.

"So are you guys going at Ella's birthday party?" Fair smiled at me from the next table I was cleaning up.

"Yeah. I can't pass her invitation when she invited the whole gang. I mean come on there is no party without Zach." I exclaimed.

I can't miss it especially when I know for sure that she is going to be there. She can't miss her friend's birthday, can she? Even when I'm there...

"That's cool at least I'm going to be there with people I'm comfortable with." she replied relieved.

She is going to be there...Ohh shit this is not good...

"Ohh... You are coming too? Ella invited you? How come? I mean I didn't know you guys hang out..." I asked surprised.

She was taken aback by my question. "Well, yeah." she laughed. "Ella and I hit it off the second day I was here. The most I talked to was her when she comes in the afternoon to help us out. I know it seems surprising since I'm only here for only a week but that's pretty most of it." she explained smiling.

Ohh shit. This is not going to be good for Cody. That jerk flirted with Gale and Ella at the same time for a month now and since he noticed that I'm comfortable with Fair he started going for her as well.

Okay...yeah in some other people's eyes it may seem that he is just friendly with Fair but no, it is not just that.

I've known him for the past five years and pretty easy to decipher when he is friendly and when he is flirting in some 'gentleman' ways.
