Chapter 9

Tessa's POV

"The beach boss is finally here!" someone shouts.

I turn around and see Jim walking like he is doing a catwalk. Damn that boy is something else...

"Damn it, asshole. Are you going to do anything for work are you just going to pretend to work?" Jake says frustrated.

Jake is the lifeguard of the hotel and all that I know for that guy is that he pickers all the time with Jim. These two are like a married couple, seriously... Jake is the kind of guy who sleeps around with girls but seriously he is one of the most fun guys you can hang out with. Especially, the combination of these two can make me laugh for hours.

For these two I enjoy going to work. They make my day very joyful especially when I don't have anything to do at the office... Seriously, when I come at the beach I enjoy watching them bickering back and forth. The only thing that is missing is the pop-corn, is like watching a comedy.

"Why honey? Did you miss me?" He laughs while he strokes his chick.

Jake pushes Jim's hand away and shakes his head no.

"You need to stop doing this. Tessa has all the right to make fun of us." he whines.

I shake my head no, laughing. "No, you guys keep doing your thing. Pretend that I'm not even here."

I seriously enjoy watching them.

Jake shakes his head in disbelief and smiles. I really think he enjoys the teasing way to much than he lets himself show.

"Okay, enough with nonsense. Tessa I've been wondering what the hell are you going to do with Zach? I'm tired of hearing him at night telling us that the hobbit is playing him." Jae whines at me.

And I even enjoy way to much what he just mentioned.

"I'm going to do whatever I want. Honestly, I don't like him that much. Yes, he is easy in the eyes and is attractive but I don't think I'm going to do anything with him. So, nothing. I'm going to do nothing."

Jake raises his eyebrows.

"Let her be. She can do whatever she wants. If she doesn't like him, that's it." Jim points out.

"Keep saying that, hun. But actually you are going to end up doing something with him. You like him even if you are not letting yourself believe it." Jake smirks.

What? I'm not pretending. I certainly know what I want. Believe me if I wanted to do something I would have.

"Believe me I'm not in denial. I know what I want. I have nothing in common with the guy We have different opinions on many things. Don't even make me started that he is way to strong-minded when he comes in politics. He doesn't let other people change his mind! He is like a horse in a race with blinders! I can't go along with a person who is not openminded." I say frustrated.

Jake laughs at my outburst. "I'm going to keep my forecast as it is. We will see what happens." he continues.

I can't believe this. I know what I'm saying and from the beginning I knew that both Zach and Cody where bad news. My mind hasn't change, I just enjoy his reactions. That's all!

"What's going up with you? You seem off." I ask calmly to change the subject.

His expression changes and turns serious.

"Nothing all cool. Nothing new. Clubs, girls, work, drinking. The usual." he waves off.

I look at Jim and wonder. Jim makes me signal to let it go.

I can't let it go. Jake is not the type to turn serious suddenly. Something has happened. "What happened Jake?" I ask again.

"All cool. Nothing. I have to go back to my post." He dismisses and leaves for his lifeguard's tower.

I look at Jim and whisper at him.

"Come later at my office. I don't like this."

"What the hell do you mean Tara is with Andrew?!" I ask shocked.

"It means what it means. She flirted with Jake, the slept together for one night and she turned to his best friend. Andrew." he states indifferent. "He even brings her at the room."

I can't believe this... Jake...well I don't think he cares that much for her but it's going to be weird with Andrew for sure. I wouldn't be able to be in his shoes...

"I think has somehow affected Jake." I state.

Jim shrugs, making a gestured like who knows.

"I think he is going to be fine. Don't worry. My question tough is what actually are you going to do with Zach? Do you actually meant what you said?" he asks curious.

"I do but I just like his reactions, that's all. He doesn't get the message but I got to give him that he way stubborn to stop asking and that makes me want to play his game." I giggle.

Jim raises one eyebrow with disbelief at me.

"I think I'm going to say that you are confused and that you are just know what you are doing... I guess."

Believe me. I know.
