—--------------------------

A few weeks had passed since your accident and the night when you remembered just what had happened. Since then, Aaron had been sleeping with you in the master bedroom each and every night, holding you close in case you had another memory that you remembered that could have proved to have been too much for you to handle on your own.

And as much as you wanted to remember more, you only remembered bits and pieces here and there. You remembered that Aaron liked blueberry waffles for breakfast, that the two of you always held an annual gingerbread house making contest during the holidays, and that you both wanted to go to Paris for your honeymoon when that time came.

It hurt you that you couldn't remember much else but Aaron kept telling you it was a start. And every night before you would go to bed, he'd show you the same photo albums that you had seen each night before drifting off to sleep in hopes that you would remember something, anything else.

"And this is your brother, Sean, right?" you asked as you pointed to the picture in the photo album on your lap. You and Aaron had been snuggled together in bed for a while, going through the now familiar pages of the photo albums.

"Yeah, that's him." Aaron scooted closer to you in the bed, running his fingers through your scalp, as he placed his free arm around your stomach. He pressed a small kiss to your temple as he flipped to the next page in the photo album. "He's in New York. Head chef at some fancy restaurant last I knew."

"When was the last time you talked to him?" You looked at the pictures on the page, seeing a younger Aaron and Sean tossing a football back and forth and even a picture with Aaron holding Sean in a headlock on the beach which made you chuckle to yourself.

Aaron shrugged his shoulders, shaking his head. "A few years maybe. I don't know. He drifted. I tried to be there for him when he needed me but then we just started to lead two totally separate lives. I couldn't always be the one to bail him out of trouble all the time. I had other things to focus on rather than him," he sighed. "Like my job. You. Us. I couldn't keep worrying about what shit my idiot brother got himself into."

You turned to look at Aaron and pressed a gentle kiss onto his lips. "I'm sure you did everything you could to be there for him. People drift apart, it happens." You caressed his cheek gently, running your thumb along his jawline.

He nodded his head, pulling you closer to him. "I know." He grabbed the photo album out of your hands and closed it, turning to place it on the nightstand next to the bed in the master bedroom.

"Let's get some rest, baby. I don't want to overwhelm you with all of this stuff and I need to get some rest to get ready for the transplant that I have tomorrow afternoon." He turned off the light that rested upon the nightstand. "You've already remembered a few things here and there which I am so happy about."
