---------------------------

It had been a few months since you remembered your life with Aaron after your accident. You had been adjusting back into your daily routines and Aaron helped you along every step of the way.

One of the more memorable moments after you remembered was when the two of you finally got married. You had gone to the courthouse to elope immediately after you remembered everything but you also had planned out a small wedding ceremony and reception to have the wedding of your dreams.

You would always remember how handsome Aaron looked as he waited for you at the end of the aisle. How, although he tried to hide it, he swiped tears away from his face as you were walking down the aisle. How full of love the entire evening felt. How the two of you made love all night after the wedding, repeating your vows over and over in an intimate way that you knew would have the two of you bonded for life.

And it was then that you realized that come hell or high water, you would always be there for him. For better or for worse, just like the vows you had exchanged stated so clearly.

The for worse part had come a lot sooner than you expected. But not in the way that you may have anticipated.

You had been waiting for Aaron to come home from a long shift from the hospital. To pass the time, you did some reading and even cooked dinner to have it ready for when he came home.

You texted him throughout the day to see how everything was going and nothing seemed out of the ordinary when he wasn't messaging you back. You figured he got busy on calls like he normally would.

So whenever he strolled into the house at night, you already knew that he was going to be tired and probably crash shortly after he ate.

You heard his car pull into the driveway and you went into the kitchen to fix him a plate because you were sure he probably had eaten the bare minimum while on his shift. You grew excited to see him as you heard his keys jingle in the door.

"Hi, honey," you called out from the kitchen.

You waited a few seconds for a response but when you only heard the shuffling of clothes in the foyer, you raised your brows in confusion as to why he didn't respond.

You stuck his food in the microwave and then walked towards the front door when you saw the shape he was in.

Aaron was sitting on the stairs that led to the second floor of your house with his head in his hands and his knees tucked close to his chest. You noticed how his normally pristine baby blue scrubs were covered in blood, all over his chest, some on his legs. You even saw the faint red stains on his arms.

"Aaron," you whispered softly.

He picked his head up from his hands and you saw a faint puffiness to his eyes. He sniffled and looked at you before looking back down at the floor.
