Never Say Never

It's the middle of the night and I hear a knock on the door.

I tap Carter on the shoulder.

"What?! What's wrong babe?" He says in a groggy voice half asleep still.

"Someone just knocked on the door" I say.

"Are you serious?"

"Yes!"

"Okay let's go see who it is?!"

We get up and Carter puts a shirt on and I put a sweatshirt on and we go over to the door.

Carter looks through the peep hole.

"It's Heather and Ethan."

He opens the door?

"Excuse me what are you doing at my house at 1:58 in the morning?" Carter asks.

"Carter someone broke into my apartment and took everything." Ethan says.

"Are you serious man?"

"Yeah we have nothing now."

"Oh my god!" I say.

I look over at Heather, "Heaths? You okay?"

"Anchor, I think it was my dad." She says while shaking.

Ethan grabs her waist and kisses her on the forehead.

"Guys oh my god come in please you can stay with us." I say.

"Yeah guys of course please we have plenty of room you can have a spare bedroom for the time being I mean we have 3." Carter says.

We walk over to the couch.

"Are you guys hungry, do you want some tea?" I ask.

"I'm okay thank you." Ethan says.

"No thanks." Heather tells me.

Oh my gosh she's breaking my heart.

"So tell us everything." Carter says.

I was back over and sit next to Carter and put a blanket over us and snuggle into him.

"We're out to dinner with some work buddies of mine and when we got home which was at around 9:30-9:45 ish and the door was kicked down and nothing I mean absolutely nothing was in the house. Nothing," he says looking at Heather, "so we went straight to the police department and they wanted to see it so we took them back to the apartment and they were just as shocked as we were to be honest and so they're trying to find who did it but we needed a place to live I mean we have nothing."

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry you guys, but you can stay here as long as you want to, and we will take you shopping for some new clothes to have." I say.

"My dad has to give us money once a month now because I left of abuse charges he gives us $800.00 a month." I say.

It's true my dad pays us now but he's still not in my life. And neither is my mom.

"Thank you Anchor." Heather and Ethan both say.

"Hey Anch, can we go talk?" Heather asks me.

"Of course."

We head back to my beauty room.

"Anch, I know it was my dad and I too Ethan and I think he wants to be believe so bad but he doesn't but I just have this feeling that it was him."

"Okay okay. I believe you but the only thing is Heaths, is you haven't seen your dad is over 2 years and how would he know where you live?"

"I don't know Anch it just I really think it was him."

"Okay than we will try to find something proving it was him," I say. "I'm here for you Heather, whenever you need me and I'll help you with whatever you need okay?"

"Okay thank you Anchor."

I smile.

-Carter's POV-

"Carter I know that Heather is afraid it was her dad and I want to believe her so much but I don't know how. We haven't seen him in to years. yet, she really thinks it's him."

"I know she does but you have to remember that Heather is still in a fragile spot about her dad and I know this because it's been 2 years for Heather and it's only been 6 months for Anchor. Maybe it was her dad, maybe it wasn't but no matter what you need to find who did this and you need to help her get through this more than anything. I know you're pissed and I would be too but at the end of the day you need to help her get through this. Especially because she's afraid her dad did this." I say.

I feel so bad for these two, it's not fair that they got everything taken from them.

I don't know how to react about Heather thinking her dad did this, I mean it's definitely a possibility and Heather gets these feelings all the time and most of the time she's right, but this is extreme.

But I did meet her dad once and he was a dick so I don't know.

I know that Ethan really doesn't want it to be true because they both worked so hard to get Heather's dad out of her life and if he just came back in that would tear Heather apart.

"You're going to find who did this Ethan, and if it is her dad you are going to make him pay."

"Oh you better fucking count on it." He says.

It's a lot for them to handle I mean they've been through so much just like Anchor and I have been but they always get through it and this they will get through.
