It was another day in a small town of Kansas, and Sam had gotten up and fed the farm animals before he got into his car and drove into town. Sam Winchester had differed from everyone else in the town, since he never exactly picked up women and bring them to his house. That was his older brother, Dean. Dean had always been the ladies' man, and that left Sam with nothing to relate to. He couldn't pick up many women, nor did any of the women in town interest him. He wanted someone who would see him as any other man, not the stupid outcast. He and his brother had recently moved to the town after traveling for weeks across the country. They wanted a place to stay. As Sam drove through the town, people were getting out of their houses and getting ready for the day. Some people were also heading to work. Sam pulled into the library and climbed out. The minute he did, he could feel all eyes on him. Like he was some sort of freak, Sam kept his head down as he walked into the library. Behind him, he could hear people whispering.

"Did you notice?" one person said. "It's that new kid, the one who always goes into the library and searches spells and folklore,"

"Yeah I did," another said. "Stay away from him. I heard he can cast spells and summon demons,"

"I thought both him and his brother did that?" the previous individual said.

"No, his brother is a hunter. He's been going out with any girl he sees, but this kid," the other said. Sam ignored them. It was always another day in the town and that's what he had always heard around him.

"Just ignore them, don't give them an audience," his brother's advice rang in his ears. Once he was finally inside, he passed by the women sitting behind the desk. He made his way straight for the folklore and spells section. While he didn't exactly cast spells, he only went to that section of the library because he found it fascinating. He walked through the section and pulled out the book he had been looking for and sat down in one chair to read. Meanwhile, in the library, a girl with blonde hair was standing by the audiobooks when she noticed Sam sitting at one table. Becky had been completely obsessed with Sam since he and his brother moved into town. It got to a point where she would research everything about him and once in a while followed him around. She took a deep breath and walked over to where he was sitting.

"Hey hot stuff," Becky said, getting Sam's attention. He looked up and nearly fell out of his chair when he saw Becky.

"Oh, um.." Sam responded. "Hi Becky, I um didn't know you would be here,"

"Why's that, Sam?" questioned Becky as she got in his personal space.

"Do you think you could get out of my personal space?" Sam said. Out of all the girls in this town, Sam wished Becky wasn't among those who were in love with him. Sam moved around the table and backed away.

"Why don't we go out to dinner?" Becky asked once again, making her way toward Sam. "I know your favorite restaurant and I know what you like to order,"

"You know, I would, but um.." Sam pulled out his phone, acting like he had gotten a text. "Oh look, I think Dean wants me back home," Sam put his phone back. "Rain check Becky, maybe next time,"

"But.." Becky started, but Sam took off from the section of the library and checked out the book he had before leaving and getting into his car. Sam sighed in relief. While Becky seemed like a nice girl, she was mostly crazy. He wouldn't be surprised if she put a love spell on him. Thankfully, he had gotten back home safely and got out just in time to see his brother stepping out with a girl. They kissed briefly before the girl walked away.

"Hey Sammy," Dean said as he saw his brother walking toward the house. "Why do you look like you are out of breath?"

"I don't want to talk about it," Sam said as he walked by his brother and into the house. The minute he did, he saw his brother was also taking care of some weapons they had brought out of the car.

"Let me guess," Dean said as he sat down at the table. "Becky made an appearance?"

"Yes," Sam answered. "Dude, I can't shake her,"

"I wish I could help, man, but she only likes you," Dean answered. "Why don't you consider yourself lucky? At least a girl is interested in you,"

"I wouldn't call her stalking me interested, Dean," Sam responded. "She has been following me around and tried to invite me to dinner,"

"Why didn't you go for it?" Dean questioned he wanted his brother to at least have some sort of love interest. Even if it meant dating a crazy chic. Sam walked over to the fridge and pulled out a bottle of alcohol. He poured it into two cups and handed one over to his brother, who politely took it.

"I didn't go for it because I don't want some woman to look at me as if I'm an object," Sam said. "Plus, I would like someone who at least shares my interest or, better yet, understands what its like being an outcast," Dean drank from his cup and sat his glass down.

"Sam, those types of people are only in those books you read," Dean answered. "Even if we had gone around fighting monsters, it beats having your nose buried in a book," Sam sighed, no point in trying to argue with his brother.

"Easy for you to say. The women here are practically swooning over you," Sam said. "What are you doing, anyway?"

"Cleaning out my gun," Dean answered. "I'm going to go on a hunting trip this afternoon,"

"Wait..you mean, you're leaving me here alone?" Sam questioned, suddenly worried that Becky might approach the house. "Can't I go with you?"

"Sorry Sammy," Dean said. "I move a lot faster when I'm on my own. I think you'll be able to survive a day," Sam wasn't sure what to say, but rather than arguing with his brother, he nodded. Later that afternoon, Sam had packed a small bag of food for his brother. At least nothing bad was going to happen while he was gone. He hoped nothing bad was going to happen.

"Do you have everything?" Sam questioned. While it had always been him and his brother, they often looked out for each other. After all, Dean was the one who had raised him.

"Of course I do Sammy," Dean said. "Stop acting like mom,"

"Hey, I was only checking," Sam said. "Please be careful out there, De,"

"Don't worry, I will," Dean continued. "I'll see you tomorrow." With that, Dean gave his brother a hug and pulled away. Dean turned and walked toward the forest to start his hunt.
