After learning of the Frenchman's conversation with his partner, Thomas began making arrangements. He booked a flight and made sure every little detail was accounted for. While Alex hadn't explicitly said yes when speaking with Lafayette, he hadn't said no either. That was enough for Thomas. He knew the Caribbean man would give in when faced with the situation. And that's exactly what he did.
A little over a week after their escapade to the office, Alex found himself alone in the house. Thomas had gone out to run some errands but it had been quite some time since he left. He had never gone out to the store for that long, causing the younger man to fret. He wasn't sure what to do, as the other wouldn't answer his texts. He was so wrapped up in his own mind, that he jumped, frightened when the doorbell rang, unexpectedly.
"Gilbert? What are you doing here?" He opened the door, confused.
"I thought I'd just come over. Say hi."
The Frenchman stood in the doorway, awkwardly.
"Puis-je enter?"
"Right, sorry. Come in." He let him inside.
"You alright?"
"Not really, Thomas went out this morning and hasn't come back since." Alex sat on a chair, tired.
"Have you called him?"
"I called, I texted, doesn't matter. He won't answer his phone."
The Marquis hummed as if pondering the situation.
"Let's go look for him."
"I don't know where he went..."
"Well, he's bound to be somewhere, come on."
Lafayette grabbed his friend by the elbow and urged him out of the house. He quickly put on some shoes and locked the house with a spare key, before the Frenchman pushed him into his car.
"This is ridiculous, Gil. We'll never find him like this." The shorter man sat, nervous in his seat.
"Let's just drive and see. Here. Text him from my phone, maybe he'll answer." He handed the man his smartphone.
Alexander did as suggested and let his friend drive, hoping his lover was alright, wherever he was. The longer they drove, the more uncomfortable Alex became.
"Es que tout vas bien?" The Frenchman started to get concerned hearing his friend's hums of displeasure.
"She's restless, won't stop moving and it hurts. It's like she's nervous too."
"It's alright, I'm sure we'll find him."
"Gil, why are you driving to JFK?" The brunet asked after noticing which way they were going.
"Looking for Thomas."
"Why the hell would he be at the airport?"
This time the Marquis didn't answer, he kept driving and kept his mouth shut, despite his friend's urgent questions. They drove up to the entrance, parking the car a safe distance away.
"We're here." Lafayette finally spoke up.
Alex was confused.
"Come on, let's go inside." He walked out of the car and had to open the passenger door, as the younger man was so stunned, he hadn't moved. Reluctantly, Hamilton exited the car realizing this had been some kind of scheme. The pair of friends walked together inside and from afar, Alex recognized the trademark poofy hair of his lover, and then his face as it looked up and lit up at the sight of Alexander. Thomas ran up to them instantly.
