There was less than a month left till the wedding, and Thomas's tailor finally had an opening for them to come try on different suits that they could choose for their big day. They had decided that both would wear the same three-piece set, given the time constraint. And it didn't really matter to them in the end anyway. For Thomas, being the more sentimental one, the day had some meaning, but he was well aware that it was more of a formality for Alexander. It didn't have to be ostentatious or ornate. It just had to be theirs.

Lafayette and Madison met them at the shop, ready to help pick out the right colours and fabrics, while also keeping an eye on the ever rumbunctious little Grace. It was Hamilton's first time getting fitted and the first time ever stepping into a real tailor's shop. He looked around, eyes wide, mystified by the different suits and rolls of fabric surrounding him.

"Darling, you'll catch flies." Jefferson whispered into his ear, noticing the awe on his partner's face.

Alexander just gave him a stern look, not acknowledging the jab. They were ushered to a separate room with two sets of dressing screens obscuring each corner of the room. One on the left, one on the right, with just enough space to try on clothes behind them. And a couple of chairs across from the middle of the room.

"You come here every six months?"

Jefferson hummed in approval.

"How come you never took me with you?"

Thomas paused.

"I actually don't have an answer for that. I guess all of those insults at my fashion sense made me think you wouldn't like it. That's it's too pompous?"

They had been together for so long, Hamilton almost forgot all the unsavoury things he must have said in the heat of the moment during disputes. He cringed on the inside.

"God, I really was a mess. I'm so sorry, Thomas." The apology was genuine. "Is it too late to say I take it all back?"

That made Jefferson laugh.

"Apology accepted, Darling." He gently pecked him on the cheek.

An employee ushered the two of them behind each dressing screen as their audience of Grace, Madison, and Lafayette eagerly sat down in their seats, awaiting Thomas and Alexander's grand entrance.

The first suit they tried was a classic black Tuxedo. Alex couldn't help but laugh when they both emerged from behind their screen.

"Why, hello, Mr. Bond."

Hamilton put on a sultry voice as he placed his right hand on Jefferson's chest and his left on Jefferson's shoulder. Looking up into his eyes. Making Thomas smirk. Lafayette whistled in the background. They turned to face the room and walked closer to their friends.

"And?" Thomas asked.

"Looks alright." Madison offered.

"Yeah. But a bit boring, non?" Lafayette answered.

"And you, princess? Do you like daddy's costume?" He bent a bit closer to her height in Madison's lap. The little girl scrunched her face and shook her head no, giggling.

"I agree, Grace. This is way too formal." Hamilton quipped.

"Darling, it is our wedding, after all."

"Exactly! I want it to feel fun. Not like I'm going to a work party." He shivered, making everyone chuckle.

"Alright. I get your point."

They turned back around and let the employees help them with the next suit. They emerged in navy tweed suits, with light blue dress shirts, red ties, and a red pocket square.
