Oh no! Skink is going to kill me!
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" Meltwater barked, turning around to find her bag leaking a multitude colours from the ink she had just bought.
"I'm so so sorry! It was an accident! A small, light orange dragon was looking down, worried. She had tiny horns, four dragonfly-like wings, and brown spots that covered her body. Meltwater hadn't seen any dragon that looked like her before. Probably a hybrid.
"Do you know how EXPENSIVE ink is! My shop is struggling as it is! I could have spent that money on food or something, but NO! I spent it on ink and you destroyed it! I hope you're happy with yourself!" she yelled, anger building up inside her.
"I'm sorry!" the small dragon repeated. "I can pay for it! I have the money! Please don't hurt me!" she squeaked. She was so adorable, Meltwater had to stop herself from letting out an audible "aww".
"How much do you have?" She asked, taking the bag of money the orange dragon was holding out to her. The dragon slowly looked up as she did so.
"Wow, you're beautiful," she whispered, staring at Meltwater's face for a moment, then snapping back to reality. "Uh, I mean... I'm sorry."
"Get up!" Meltwater demanded, followed by a confused noise from the small dragon. "You said you would pay for it all, get up. We're going shopping!" Meltwater mostly wanted to know if the money was counterfeit, but the dragon was pretty cute. She could push her around for a while.
They went to the art shop Meltwater had just walked out of, and she made the dragonet replace the ink, as well as buy some new colours she hadn't ever thought to buy before. She also made the dragonet replace the bag, as she was never getting those stains out.
"Is that it?" she asked as they had finished shopping.
"You don't expect me to carry all this stuff back to my shop by myself, do you?" She asked in a deadpanned voice. The small dragon was very compliant, so she nodded, and Meltwater led the way.
Meltwater co-owned a small body art shop with her good friend, Skink. It wasn't the most popular, but this was a good town for tourists stopping by on their way to one of the nearby kingdoms, and that spread word of mouth. She had gotten her own ear piercings, a combination of purple triangles and studs, and tattoo, a colourless great white shark located in the pit of one of her wings, from here.
Skink looked up from his book as they entered. "What took you so long? Got a new customer? What can we do you for?" He asked. He was very obviously gay, and you could especially hear it in his voice. His SandWing scales were so light, they were nearly white. The perfect colour for tattoos, which he had quite a number of.
"I'm not here for anything. I'm just dropping these off," the orange dragon replied. Meltwater just realized now she hadn't asked her name.
"This is... What's your name? She asked.
"Spittlebug," she answered, putting the new bag with everything in it on the desk, beside Skink's back talons. He took them off the desk and leaned forwards, looking through it.
"She was nice enough to get us all kinds of new ink," she said, then, when Spittlebug wasn't looking, she walked around and whispered in his ear "I think she likes me. I don't mind that much. She's one of the wealthy ones."
"I should get going. I still have to buy seeds for my farm. See you later," Spittlebug smiled nervously.
"Oh, so you will see me later? Meet me here during mid-day tomorrow, and we can go out for lunch, if you want," Meltwater grinned. The tiny dragon blushed, before squeaking out an okay, and quickly ducking out the door.
Well, Meltwater had a date now. That was unplanned.
