To Die For (Shikamaru x Fem Reader)

I Do

(Y/N) p.o.v:

Today is the day where I finally become Shikamarus wife and officially become a Nara!
We slept in different houses last night, making it so the first time he sees me in my dress will be when I walk down the isle. He slept at home while I slept at the Hyugas, I wanted to keep the element of surprise, so I had Hinata hang on to my dress because if there's one person who could keep a secret it would be my best friend. She was the only one who went with me when I picked it out because I trust her judgment the most.
We ate breakfast while we waited for Ino and Sakura to show up so we could get ready together. They each had their own task when it came to helping me get ready, so it's important that they show up soon. A little after we finished eating and brushed our hair we heard them knock, Hinata quickly went and invited them in leading them back to her room where we planned to get ready.

(Sakura): *Runs up and gives me a hug.* "I'm so excited! Are you excited?"
"Ye- ."
(Ino): *Interrupts.* "Of course she's excited! She's been waiting for a long time and now Shikamaru is finally going to be her husband!"
(Sakura): "Shut up Ino pig! I was asking
(Y/N)!"
"Well she took the words right out of my mouth!"
(Hinata): *Shuffles into the room with all the dresses.* "Alright here are the dresses!"

Hinata puts all of the dresses on her bed except for the wedding dress which she hung carefully on a rack before she goes to put her bridesmaids dress on. I haven't seen their dresses yet and they wanted to surprise me so they had me close my eyes while they dress.

(Ino): "Alright we're ready! You can open your eyes now!"

I slowly open my eyes and they were standing in front of me wearing (favorite color) floor length dresses. They had off the shoulder sleeves and a thigh high slit on the right leg, they were beautiful on them and better than I imagined.

"You all look so beautiful! I love them!"
(Hinata): "Thank you (Y/N), but they are nothing compared to your dress!"
(Sakura): "But first we have to take care of your hair and makeup!"

I nodded and Ino grabbed her makeup bag and Sakura grabbed hair products. They started working at the same time surprising me by how they were able to do things perfectly even though they had little space to give each other. After 25 minutes Ino finished up and moved to give Sakura more room.

(Hinata): "Wow, Ino you did a really good job!"
(Ino): "Thanks Hinata! Face me so I can help you with yours!"
(Hinata): "R-Really? You would do that?"
(Ino): "Of course! I have no reason not to!"

Ino starts doing Hinatas makeup while Sakura finishes off by putting small diamonds in my hair, I got up and took my dress from it's cover and started putting it on. The dress was off shoulder with a low back and a short train, it had some lace lining the edges on the back and bottom of the dress, it wasn't puffy and it wasn't form fitting it was more elegant and comfortable. I did everything I could and called for Hinata to help me with the back, as soon as she came in she just smiled and helped you by zipping and tying the back. I finished by putting my shoes on, I turn to Hinata and she gives me a hug.

(Hinata): "You look absolutely beautiful!"
"Thank you for helping me so much with the wedding. It means a lot to have my best friend be by my side helping me!"

We both leave the closet where Ino and Sakura stood in awe. I couldn't help but to give them both a hug and tear up.

(Ino): "Don't cry! It will smear your makeup!"
(Sakura): "You're stunning (Y/N)! You look like a goddess!"
(Hinata): "I agree!"
"We should go now so we make it on time!"
(Sakura): "Wait! One more thing!" *She comes up and places a tiara on my head.* "There, that completes it!"

I smile and we all begin leaving the house but I hesitate because I didn't want my dress to get dirty.

"Damnit! I wasn't even thinking about how I'll get there!"
(Hinata): "Oh dear..."

Ino and Sakura look concerned and begin thinking of ways they could get me there without my dress hitting the ground. Suddenly we hear a familiar voice.

(???): "Am I correct to assume that there's a maiden in desperate need of rescuing?"

We all look and see Kakashi leaning against the wall giving them a closed eyed smile. I sigh in relief and nod.

(Kakashi): "I'm glad I decided to follow that feeling telling me I needed to come here!" *He chuckled a bit and bends down reaching his arms out.* "May I?"
"Yes!"

In one movement he scoops me up carrying me bridal style as we all start walking to the wedding.

Shikamarus p.o.v:

I was standing at the front talking to Neji about how I'm beginning to get nervous butterflies while he was straightening my tie and making sure everything was in place including the boutonnière being careful not to stab me or himself as he fixes it.

"I'm starting to get nervous about all of this."
(Neji): "Well now isn't the time to be getting cold feet and second thoughts. Any time now your fiancé will show up, and I'm pretty sure she's just as nervous as you are."
"You're a great friend Neji, thank you."

He gives me one final check to make sure things are as they should be and places his hand on my shoulder giving me a reassuring smile. I look at everyone as they start to come in and sit down conversing amongst themselves about how they were excited and couldn't wait to see (Y/N) but no one was more excited than me.

(Neji): "It looks like I have to go, I'll talk to you after the wedding!"

I look over and see Erena gently tugging on his sleeve before he takes her hand and goes to sit down. I raise my eyebrow as I catch a glimpse of something shiny on her finger, I look over to Neji and make eye contact. I looked at Erenas hand making Neji look then he blushes and looks back at me, my eyes widen and I mouth "Are you two?" Neji slightly nods and mouths "Don't tell anyone." I chuckle quietly making sure nobody noticed but when I looked all of their eyes were on something else.
I followed their gaze and notice the top of Kakashis hair and face coming from the hill. Then I saw the most beautiful woman being carried in his arms, he set her down when they reached the isle then offered his arm, she took it and Ino gave her the bouquet. I was overcome with emotion causing tears to flow down my face as (Y/N) walked down the isle joining me. I could barely speak but managed to mutter some words.

"Y-You look beautiful."

She wiped the tears from my face and the priest began talking. This is it.

After all the speeches and vows:

(Priest): "Do you (Y/N) take Shikamaru to be your husband, in sickness and in health?
(Y/N): *She gives me a big smile.* "I do!"
(Priest): "Do you Shikamaru take (Y/N) to be your wife, in sickness and in health?"
"I do!"
(Priest): "Now not even death can separate you as your love is eternal, I now pronounce you as man and wife. You may kiss the bride!"

I place my hand behind her head while the other pulls her close by her waist, we smile before share a kiss. I could hear clapping and cheering, I pulled away from the kiss and took her hand.

(Priest): "And now I proudly introduce you all to Mr and Mrs Nara!"

We were quickly greeted by all of our friends receiving hugs from all of them before I picked my wife up bridal style and made our escape to our house to get ready for the after party.
