My Little Ponies vs Ninja Turtles
"Well, well, well, look who decided to show up." Niamh said as I walked into our cabin with my overnight bag and dark circles under my eyes, thanks to Michael. "Where have you been?"
"I went to Jade and Chloe's cabin..." I lied. She didn't need to know about my life.
"And you decided to stay there the night apparently. You do know that there are curfews here right?" She glared at me as she got up from her bed. Even with bed hair she looked nice. Damn it.
"I've been spending my Summer's here for years, so yes, I do. Now shove off!" I snapped and chucked my bags on top of my bed before grabbing a towel and going into the shower room.
I walked in and turned the shower on, took off my clothes and jumped in.
I didn't mean to snap at her. She just completely ignored me for the whole day yesterday and then when I do something wrong she tells me off for it. Who even is she? I mean, I've clearly been coming to this camp for a lot longer than her so clearly I know the rules better than she does.
I finished up showering and proceeded to wash my face and brush my teeth before leaving the shower room.
Niamh was already gone as I walked into the room so I felt a little bit more comfortable.
I pulled on a random bra and knickers and then I changed into my white denim shorts and my black batman loose top and I added a free hugs bracelet to my wrist that rested next to the dream catcher one which I always wear.
I slid on my white converse, made sure I had my phone in my back pocket, and walked outside and towards the cafeteria, where I knew everyone would already be at.
"Hey guys." I said as I sat down at our usual table, in between Harry and Chloe.
"Mikey, care to tell us as to why I woke up in the middle of the night yesterday, and neither you or Michael were there?" Niall asked after he swallowed a spoon full of corn flakes.
I nervously chuckled and took a piece of toast from Harry's plate, which caused him to frown but not mention it. I don't usually eat much in the mornings, unless it's dad who makes it, and they knew it, so I guess Harry was just happy that I was eating at all.
"We were battling it out to see who could stay awake the longest, but then he left and went outside and I obviously thought that he was probably going to nap somewhere so when he came back he could stay awake for longer, so I followed him to make sure that he didn't cheat." I said as bit into the piece of toast.
"Of course..." Chloe rolled her eyes as she placed a carton of chocolate milk in front of me, which I assumed she'd gotten on purpose for me. "So did he go to sleep somewhere?"
"No... He just sat down outside and I did the same." I shrugged. I didn't feel the need to tell them about anything else. After all, Michael said that he sometimes just needed to be on his own, and if I told them, I felt like I'd be telling them about Michael's little get away.
I poked the little straw into the chocolate milk carton and started drinking it, looking around the cafeteria as I did so. I would lie if I said that I wasn't looking to find Michael and his little group, and I would definitely be lying if I said that I didn't feel a little bit sad over the fact that I couldn't see them anywhere.
"Attention campers!" Aunt V. said as she stepped onto the small stage in the far corner of the cafeteria, that was usually used by the councilors to make announcements. "I hope you have all settled well into your cabins, and that you are happy with your room mates that you will be sharing a room with for the next three weeks!"
Every year Aunt V. makes the same speech about the camp activities, teams and team points. Me and the group already know all of it from hearing it so many times.
Basically for the three weeks we're at camp we are put into teams, and after the whole camp is divided into teams, we compete against each other in activities, then at the end of camp, the team with the most points wins.
Obviously, to be fair, the teams would compete against people of similar ages, as it wouldn't be fair to have a team of 11 year old's compete against a team of 17 year old's, as the 17 year old's would be much more experienced.
This whole thing reminded me of Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Houses, so I was pretty happy to find this out in the first year I came to camp.
"... and lastly, this year, we will allow you to chose your teams. But be warned, as you are allowed to chose your teams, that means that the number is decided by you also, so if you have a small team, you must accept the responsibility yourselves and not say it is unfair when you have to compete with a larger one." Aunt V. announced. Me and the guys soon all looked at each other, mentally agreeing that we would be all in the same team. " The team sheet will be right here," She said as she taped a sheet to the wall behind her. " You must come up with a name and state all the members of the team. Good luck, and may the best team win!"
With that she walked away from the stage and the cafeteria erupted into quiet talk, and a few people moving around from table to table, deciding what team to go in.
"This is so cool. We can all be in the same team for the first time!" Liam said excitingly, as he jumped up and down on his seat.
"Technically you can't be on the team, as it is only for campers." Jade pointed out as she ate a strawberry.
"No one has ever had a problem with it though." Louis shrugged.
He had a point. He hasn't been a camper for years, along with others, but still acts like one and no one has ever had a problem with it. I mean, he even pays the camp fees as if he was a camper, and doesn't get paid to be a councilor.
"We should settle for a team name then." Zayn mumbled, hand holding his head up as if he was still half asleep.
"We should totally be called "Dazzling Star shine"." Harry joked. Well attempted to.
"Lets not." I laughed. "But it would be a good idea to be called something really kidy, because everyone will have really thought out names, and then there will be us with something like "My Little Ponies"."
"Imagine the face of the councilors when announcing our team at any of the activities." Jade laughed, making her eyes go all squinty.
"And to the left, ladies and gentlemen, we have..." Sigh. "...My Little Ponies..." Louis stood up and acted out what he thought would be the councilor's reaction.
"So My Little Ponies?" I asked as I stood up. When everyone nodded in agreement I walked over to the Team sheet and wrote down our team name on the paper, scanning others as I did so.
"Ninja Turtles?" I laughed as I read over the name. "Who came up with that?"
"Me actually," I heard Michael say behind me, just as my eyes scanned over the members of the team.
"And Niamh agreed to be in a team called Ninja Turtles?" I asked surprised. "Teach me your ways because last night I was watching it on my phone and she glared at me."
"Well, let's say that our parents said that she either does as I say or she gets sent back home." He shrugged.
"Wait, she's your sister?" I was surprised to say the least, they look nothing alike.
"Yes, is that a problem, Michael?" He emphasized the word Michael just to piss me off, I know it.
"Not at all, Clifford." I smirked, remembering when Calum had called him that last night, causing him to glare at him. "Good luck, your team is going to need it."
"No, I think our team is definitely going to beat..." He looked behind me at the sheet of paper and smirked while reading our team name. "My Little Ponies."
We glared at each other before I huffed and walked past him, bumping my shoulder with him as I did so, and sat back at my table.
This is going to be great...
