Chapter 15 : Conversation

BALIW na siya. Baliw na siya.

What was that even supposed to mean?

Umiling ako. I don't even want to talk about it. This trip will be a very long trip.

Unless, of course! I sleep!

Tumango ako sa ideyang naisip. I'll sleep after I eat this whole oreo tin can. May dalawa pa naman sa bag so kung kailangan niya, he can grab it.

Binigay niya na sa akin ang tumbler kanina pero nilagay ko iyon pabalik sa loob ng paper bag.

There is no way I'm gonna drink it again.

Napa-isip ako sa kikitain namin bukas. It is Daniel John Padilla for god's sake! I am just so excited that I cannot wait!

Kung hindi pa ako tinawag ni Dab, wala na talaga akong pag-asa na ma-meet si DJ.

Wait. Weslee knew all along Dab and Cole are siblings yet he did not tell me!

"Bakit hindi mo sinabing magkapatid sila Cole at Dab?"

He scoffed. "Did you asked? And besides, ano naman kung sabihin ko sayo?"

"You could've just told me, you know? Wala rin namang mawawala kung sinabi mo sakin?" I asked while chewing.

"At wala rin namang mawawala kung hindi ko sabihin?" he said questionably and I glared at him. " ... Was my mind thought. I just didn't have the thought about saying it to you."

Iniling ko na lang ang ulo ko. I pointed the road. "Keep your eyes on the road. Madisgrasya pa tayo."

Kumuha ulit ako ng oreo sa loob ng tin can. Nilingon ko siya nang mapansing hindi siya nagsalita.

"Okay ka lang?"

His eyes went to the road seriously and did not bother to answer me. Well, he's taking what I said seriously. And that's great!

"Gisingin mo na lang ako 'pag malapit na tayo."

Binalik ko ang mineral water sa loob ng bag. I glanced at him once again pero nasa daan na ang whole attention niya.

I made a small smile before adjusting the seat. "Good night. Wake me up if you need to sleep too. Para exchange naman tayo."

I scoffed when he did not answer. You do that! Keep your eyes ahead, Weslee! Act like I'm not here!

Humiga ako sa upuan ko saka ko dinampot ang maliit na kumot na nasa likod. Hindi akin 'yon kaya sigurado akong sa kanya 'yon.

I looked at him. At dahil hindi naman niya ako pinapansin kanina pa, hindi ko na sasabihin na nasa akin 'tong kumot niya. I will be talking to the air, sigurado.

I cleared my throat. Wanting him to see that I am using his blanket!

Wala siyang naging reaksyon kaya, fine! Matutulog na ako!

Nakahiga na ako pero hindi ako makatulog. I've been sleeping in every position possible but I just can't sleep!

I looked at Weslee. "Can I turn on the radio?"

Tumango lang siya. I leaned to turn on the radio. Hindi pa iyon naging successful kasi hindi ko alam kung paano iyon. He looked at me then smirked.

His other hand held out to turn on the radio. Nagdampi ng kaunti ang kamay namin but he seems to not have noticed it.

When he successfully turned on the radio, he glanced at me. "Have a sleep now."

Playing on the radio is Merry Christmas by Ed Sheeran and Elton John. Oo nga pala. Malapit na ang pasko. So is my birthday.
