Seokjin was walking home when suddenly there was a frantic tap on his shoulder. Scared, he turned around to fight.
It was a man, dressed in a gray sweater and black ripped jeans. He smiled at him and handed a piece of paper to him. "Do I know you?" Seokjin asked, suspicious of the paper. The man shrugged and motioned for him to read the paper. Seokjin cautiously unfolded it, taking a few steps back.
Hi! My name is Jung Hoseok, and I'm twenty-five years old. I'm deaf and don't speak very well so I wrote this for you to read. I mean no harm. You're Kim Seokjin, I've been looking for you for a while now. You saved me when the earthquake hit, through Lim's Petals, it's such a shame it happened...
I wanted to thank you but I wasn't sure how to. I can read lips very well but I'm not an expert. Everyone talks different. I'd really like to be your friend, if you do too. After all, you saved my life! I'm so grateful for that, really!
Seokjin looked up at the man, who was smiling softly at him. He took sign language in high school but he hardly remembered anything. "Uh...yes, we can be friends." Seokjin signed the word 'friends' and nodded, and he stepped forward to hug him. He was a little taken back but he returned the favor.
Hoseok took out a small notebook and wrote something down.
That was family, but I assume you know a little bit of sign? I can teach you.
He read. "Yes, I'd like to learn." Seokjin told him slowly so he could read his lips. Hoseok nodded.
Writing back and forth Hoseok followed Seokjin home. Walking inside, Seokjin made a drinking motion with a questionable expression. Hoseok nodded. He was very thirsty.
Seokjin held up juice, alcohol, and water. Hoseok smirked and reached for the juice. Seokjin put both other options back and grabbed a glass to pour the apple juice. Hoseok bowed, smiling. Seokjin nodded to him and poured out the juice into a glass, and handed it to him.
Seokjin perked up and Hoseok was confused. He turned to him and made a knocking motion and left to the front door. Hoseok assumed someone was there.
"Jimin!" Seokjin smiled as he opened the door. "Hi, hyungie! I brought Jeonggukie." Jimin put an arm around Jeongguk. "Hi." Jeongguk smiled shyly, bowing. "Come on in." Seokjin stepped aside and the two entered.
"Who are you?" Jimin asked the male standing in the kitchen. "That's Jung Hoseok, another person I saved from the shop. He's deaf." Seokjin explained. "Oh, I know some sign language!" Jeongguk sprang up and walked over.
"Hi, I'm Jeongguk!"
"Hi...I'm Hoseok."
"That's awesome. I don't know much but I would like to."
"Yeah, I can teach you..."
Jeongguk grabbed Hoseok's notepad and wrote some things down.
"Seokjin hyung also saved Jimin hyung and I from the earthquake. We were in the same place when it happened. The others will be here soon. We want to be friends."
"I do too, I'm excited to meet them!"
Jeongguk smiled at Hoseok.
"How old are you?"
"Twenty-five"
"I'm twenty-two. Hoseok hyung."
