The giant wooden doors opened wide as all eyes turned turned to look at the two individuals that walked in. They outshined everybody else in the ballroom - Vivi and Ahin walked down as a crowd started to from around them.
Vivi looked especially beautiful tonight with a light peach dress that looked perfect. The dress was adorned with white pearls that shone in the light. Her hair flowed as a few flowers rested on her head. She wore matching earrings and a pearl necklace, along with white heels. Ahin wore a black suit with a white pendant. His hair was styled differently from usual and together they were the centre of attention.
As the night progressed, the music started playing louder. People started searching for a partner for the dance and Vivi was unsure of where Ahin was. He had left to go get some drinks. She scanned the large room for the familiar black hair but to her dismay, Ahin was still nowhere to be found.
People crowded Vivi as she continued her search for her partner. All the unexpected attention flustered Vivi and she was unsure of what to say to all these people. She struggled to leave the ballroom but at last she found herself on a balcony just outside.
She figured Ahin would find her soon so she chose to stay on the balcony, away from all the noise. The silence was calming and along with the exquisite garden, it made her night even better. Many stars were spread across the night sky which looked beautiful to Vivi. Yet, worry still stood in her mind, she was nervous about Ahin's whereabouts. He wouldn't have just ditched her but she hadn't even caught glimpse of him in ages.
'Where are you, Ahin?'
She wondered about going back to find him but she didn't want to be swarmed by people again. Vivi sighed and continued to think when she heard footsteps approaching. She figured it must be Ahin so she turned around. However, it wasn't Ahin who stood in front of her.
Instead, another man stood there. He looked to be about her age and he smiled widely. Vivi, unsure of what to do, decided to just, nervously, smile back. She fidgeted as she waited for the man to leave yet he only continued to watch her, making her feel extremely uncomfortable. As Vivi was about to leave, the man walked closer to her and stretched his hand out for her to take.
Though, Vivi knew what he was implying. He must have wanted a dance with her; Vivi was unsure of what to do. In all honesty, she would rather not but without any proper reason, it would be rude to refuse him.
Vivi was about to give in until she saw someone else grab her hand. Ahin. She had never been happier to see him, she would definitely thank him for this. The man glared at Ahin yet Ahin only glared back with an even more menacing gaze.
"Sorry but I'm her only dance partner today."
Ahin said with a clear hostility evident in his voice. The young man, eventually, decided to leave and Vivi sighed in relief. Knowing Ahin's violent nature, things may have gotten quite troublesome. Ahin still held her hand which he had no intention of letting go of.
"Vivi, what were you doing? Why did you leave the ballroom? You should have been more careful. What if something happened?"
Ahin continuously scolded Vivi for her carelessness.
"I would have been fine! The real question is, why did you take so long?"
Vivi asked as she looked at him. Ahin had made her worry so much that she at least deserved an explanation.
"Sorry, I got caught up in a conversation with a friend."
Ahin apologized. He didn't mean to take so long but by the time he made it back to the ballroom, Vivi had vanished.
"Wait, you have friends?"
Vivi asked out of pure curiosity. She was surprised that people would genuinely like Ahin, despite his personality. Though, her question came off as quite rude to Ahin.
"Vivi..my dearest bunny, what do you mean by that?" He asked nicely but that's what frightened Vivi even more. It was clear Ahin was offended by her remark.
"I'm just joking with you, calm down."
Vivi giggled. Soon, the sound of music could be heard playing again. The dance must be starting up again and Vivi couldn't help but want to go and see what it's like. She tugged on Ahin's hand while she dragged him back inside. Eventually, the ballroom came into view and many people could be seen dancing. It was a slow dance, which looked amazing to Vivi.
She marveled at the way everybody was able to dance so elegantly. Vivi had practiced dancing back home but she was unsure how well she would actually be able to perform. Ahin caught sight of how eager Vivi looked.
Ahin didn't enjoy dancing very much but if it was with Vivi, it would be far more exciting. He took hold of Vivi's hand and snaked his arm around her waist. Surprised, Vivi intertwined her hand with Ahin's and she followed his movements. They smiled as the two swayed around the room. It felt as if they were the only two in this loud ballroom.
Many people took notice of how the two danced so well. It didn't take long before the whole room was watching the couple dance. Though, Vivi wasn't aware of all the eyes watching them, Ahin was quite irritated by all the love struck men that watched Vivi.
"Vivi, stay by my side for the rest of the night, okay?" Ahin asked. He didn't want people surrounding her like flies.
"Why?"
"Because everybody wants to dance with you." Ahin responded. Vivi looked around the room and realized all eyes were on them. Though, she doubted anyone would want to dance with her.
"Ahin, come on, who would want to dance with me?" She said, jokingly. Ahin leaned in closer and whispered into her ear:
"Who wouldn't? Especially when you look this beautiful. "
Vivi could hear his voice so close that her face went red. Soon, the music ended and the two stopped dancing. This long night had made the both exhausted which caused them decide to leave.
As they sat in the carriage, the two made their way back home. They sat opposite each other until Ahin noticed that Vivi was staring to doze off. Her head rocked back and forth until soon it hit the side of the carriage - yet she still didn't wake up.
Ahin moved to sit next to her and placed her head on his lap. Vivi slept peacefully as she lied down. Ahin sighed while playing with her silky hair. In all honesty, he had a fun time with Vivi today except for all the lingering men. He made sure to deal with them later.
"I love you."
He said. Vivi, suddenly, stirred in her sleep, mumbling inaudible words. It was almost as if she heard. Ahin had always wanted to say those words to her but he wasn't sure of the right time. He didn't want to pressure her yet those three words almost spilled out of his mouth earlier. A while later, they reached home and Ahin carried Vivi inside. He went to the nearest bedroom to avoid waking her up - coincidentally the closet room was his.
Vivi slept soundly while Ahin called for some maids to change her attire. Ahin, also, changed and he slipped into the bed as well. He wrapped his arms around her and took in just how amazing she was, even in her sleep.
It didn't take long for sleep to take over. Soon, the two slept happily next to each other. They both seemed to be having a good dream. Maybe they were dreaming about each other?
