"On Cupid! On Comet!"

As we went higher, I got a glimpse of what was over the edge of the sleigh and pressed my back against the side of the sleigh and with one hand grabbed the pole on the sleigh wall, and grabbed Teddy's hand with my other.

"Nope. I cannot do heights." I turned to Teddy. "Why did you make me do this!?"

"I didn't know it was gonna fly!" He hissed back before lifting the camera to film the front of the sleigh.

"It's freezing." Kate shivered when Teddy pointed the camera at her.

"Hang on a minute. He's gonna go back down again."

"He better." I muttered.

"Maybe Santa has a blanket?"

"I'll look." Teddy's hand slipped out of mine as he turned around and started digging around the sleigh.

I watched as Kate turned around and got up onto her knees. "Kate, what are you—"

"Santa?"

He screamed, which caused Kate to scream, which caused the reindeer to start flying upwards, causing me to scream.

Kate then went flying backwards, hanging onto the sleigh with only one hand.

"Help me, Teddy!"

He hurried over to help her but then...

She fell.

"KATE!" Teddy spun around and yelled to Santa. "HELP!"

Santa turned around. "Who?"

Then he heard and saw Kate.

He spoke in some strange language and the reindeer pulled the sleigh around and we started going down.

"KATE!" Teddy screamed as he moved closer to the edge.

"HELP ME!"

"GRAB MY HAND!" Teddy held out his hand for his sister. "REACH!"

"I'M TRYING!" I watched as Kate slowly inched closer to Teddy. "TEDDY!"

"YOU GOT THIS, KATE!" And he pulled her back into the sleigh. I let out a sigh of relief.

The sleigh then started going back up, but we all let out screams as it almost flew into a plane.

Suddenly everything around us was a green-blue colour as we passed different landmarks and locations of the world.

"Woah." Teddy said beside me.

Santa's hat then went flying off as the green stuff disappeared. Then his sack flew away. And then the reindeer broke off and all flew off by themselves.

I felt a hand grip onto my own as we started going down, and it wasn't Kate's.

"Hold onto the little one!" Santa yelled and I wrapped my free arm around her.

Two wings popped out of the side of the sleigh and everything started going smoothly... until we hit a water tower. The left wing snapped off and we headed to the ground.

"Brace yourselves!"

As the sleigh crashed Teddy and I flew off in one direction, and Kate in another.

"Teddy? Y/N? Guys? Teddy?" I carefully opened my eyes to see I wasn't dead! I was lying on snow covered ground with Teddy beside me. "Teddy!"

He suddenly shot up and gasped.

"Are you okay?" I sat up too and saw Kate was the one talking. "Where's the camera?"

Teddy pointed just beside Kate as he continued to pant and look around, still holding my hand tightly.

"Still works." Kate sighed as she tested the camera.

"Where are we?" Teddy asked.

"Teddy..." Kate's eyes were locked on something behind us.

"I could have swore I saw Paris!"

"Uh, Teddy?" I turned around to see Santa walking toward us.

"That plane almost killed us!" Teddy went on.

"Teddy?"

"I was in the sky!"

"Teddy!"

"What!?"

Kate pointed at Santa, who I was looking up at. Teddy turned around and screamed before jumping to his feet, pulling me up with him.

"Santa Claus?" Kate grinned as we stared at the man before us.

"Live and in person." He said. "One night only. You three okay?"

"I think so..." I replied.

"Yeah." Kate nodded. "You look so... different."

"Why? Because I'm not a big fat slob?" He asked and if I weren't still in shock, I probably would've laughed.

"No, no. I— I didn't mean it that way."

"Ah, that's okay, Kate. I guess it's understandable. I mean, who can eat millions of cookies in one night and not get fat, right?" He laughed. "Well, I can."

"Can you go, "Ho, ho, ho"?"

"I don't go, "Ho, ho, ho." That's a myth." Santa spoke as he walked towards the sleigh. "Fake news."

"Sorry." Kate apologised again.

"Oh, no." Santa sighed. "Oh... You three have really messed things up. You were supposed to be asleep."

"It was all their— Kate's idea!" Teddy pointed at his sister.

"Hey!" She hit his arm.

"It was!"

"Wait." Santa looked back over to us. "What did you do with my sack of presents?"

"It flew off the sleigh..." I answered.

"Oh, not good. Not good at all." Santa looked around his sleigh more. He lifted his hands and pointed at the sky and began muttering. "First star's there... Second star's there. We came back over Moscow and... and over Paris. New York, Boston... Oh! Reindeer must've broken off somewhere over Lakeshore Drive."

"Lakeshore Drive?" Kate questioned.

"We're in Chicago, young lady."

"Chicago?" Teddy spoke up. "That means we travelled thousands of miles in, like, 30 seconds."

"Epic!" Kate exclaimed.

Santa chuckled. "You mean epic disaster." He tapped his watch. "If I'm not up and running in the next couple of hours, half the continent's not gonna get presents, and that, well, that can never happen."

"Uh, so a few brats don't get presents. It's not the end of the world."

I slipped my hand out of Teddy's as Santa turned and faced him.

"That's just the kind of lame garbage I'd expect from a Lost Believer." Santa walked right up to Teddy. "You listen to me, Teddy Pierce. Tonight, young boys and girls all over the globe are waiting, hoping, expecting Santa Claus to arrive. And if I don't... Well, you don't wanna know what happened the last time I couldn't make my rounds."

"Yes, we do. Tell us." Kate pulled out the camera to film.

"You've heard of the Dark Ages? Read about all those wars in school?

"Yeah, sure, but..." Teddy paused. "Wait, those happened because you missed Christmas?"

"Christmas spirit is more powerful than you could ever imagine." Santa explained to Teddy. "People need Christmas to remind themselves of how good they can be! Without it, well, Christmas is simply... must endure! All right, I need to round up the reindeer, find my sack of presents, call the elves, and maybe, just maybe, I can still save Christmas."
