Silence

Silence.

I stare directly ahead of me as I sit in the passenger seat of the Jeep.

Axel started the vehicle about ten minutes ago and we have not moved an inch during those ten minutes.

Why would he put me in this position? I literally refused to get in. It's not like I'm scared or anything, but I mean, clearly he is.

Lord help me.

When the car rolls back slightly I shriek. That was most definitely a big mistake as the car abruptly stops.

Stupid Astrid. Stupid Astrid. Very very stupid Astrid.

"Fuck!" He shouts, causing me to flinch. "Fuck fuck fuck!!" He hits the steering wheel quite hard as he shouts and I just stare, water filling my eyes.

I don't like this.

My mind goes to the night my parents and Sienna got off on the wrong foot. The last night they talked before everything went downhill.

My father hit the steering wheel while shouting vulgar words. I remember him saying,
"I wish I were hitting you, Sienna. But your mother's in the car."

Yeah, so is her sister, your other daughter.

I tune back into present time and focus on Axel. His eyes are now red, his face wet, hair wet from sweat. His breathing is ragged.

"I-, I need-" He stresses loudly, not looking at me or indicating he was speaking to me at all.

"Hey-" he flinches, his eyes slowly trailing to my scared ones. "Go, take a breather and come back when you're not planning on scaring the shit out of me. Okay?" My voice is shaky and I just want to get out.

And then he's gone, not before muttering,
"I'll be back."

It's been like half an hour. I think I'm late to my nail appointment.

Just a guess though.

I feel like I should go and then just head straight home. I need to leave.

I don't think I should've been there when that happened. He's in a vulnerable state right now and I know he probably feels closed off.

He'll probably be upset too because, he doesn't like people around him, furthermore speaking to him.

Hell, he doesn't even fucking like me.

Just as I get out of the Jeep, the front door slams open. Followed by a very angry Axel and Matteo.

"You always do this, Axel! All the time. Why don't you listen to me?" Matteo stresses. "Get back in the fucking house!" He yells.

But Axel ignores him.
