Kidnapped: Chapter 12

A year and a half later.

A week before Rory and Logan's wedding. Rory has been working at the HPG offices as a staff reporter for over a year. She was not tied down to just one paper, she wrote for them all as needed. She also has an online blog. Logan was assigned to the corporate offices of HPG. They worked in the same building. They have enjoyed spending this last year and a half, engaged.

Emily and Lorelai have been planning the wedding. Rory and Logan were spending every weekend in Stars Hollow, helping with the plans. Logan had managed to get her to come with him to London for a month, while he checked on some of the European papers. He thought she could use a break from all the pressure of planning a wedding.

Stephanie and Collin had gotten married in Vegas just 2 months ago. They shocked everyone. They did not tell anyone they were doing it. When they got back from their honeymoon, they had wonderful news. Stephanie is pregnant. Everyone was so excited.

This was the weekend of the Jack and Jill parties. They are forgoing bachelorette and bachelor parties for the night at Honor and Josh's house with a few friends. Collin, Finn, Josh, Seth, Robert, and Logan were playing cards in the basement media/game room. Stephanie, Paris, Lane, Honor, Juliet, and Rory were having a spa night in the living room, with professionals.

Honor noticed that Rory had not been drinking. She noticed when she went into the kitchen to pour the wine out and refill it with soda. Honor cornered her before she could return to the party.

"Is there something you want to tell me?" Honor asked with her eyebrows raised and a smirk on her face.

Rory thought about just lying to her, but she decided to confess.

"I think I'm pregnant". Rory told her.

"I'm so happy," Honor yelled. "My little brother is going to make a wonderful dad."

"Shush, I haven't told him yet?" Rory said,

"Why not?" Honor asked. Rory explained to Honor that she had missed her period this month. She didn't know if she was pregnant or just stressed about the wedding. It had become bigger than she had wanted. Her Hayden grandmother had gotten involved. So, she took a home pregnancy test and it was positive. She took the test before she left home. She had met Logan at Honor's due to him being in the Hartford office today clearing up everything so he could be off on his honeymoon, so she has not told him yet.

"I want to tell him when it's just us. I knew you would figure it out, so I'm telling you, please do not tell him." Rory begged.

As Rory and Honor were hugging Logan came into the kitchen.

"Hey, what's going on?" He asked. He was laughing. He was so happy. Rory and Honor just brushed it off and laughed with him. He asked Honor if he could steal his Ace away for a while. Honor just smiled and said sure.

Logan leads Rory outside on the patio by the pool. They sat down in the swing, holding hands, Rory's head on Logan's shoulder, just enjoying being together. After about 15 minutes, Logan tells Rory he needed to talk to her.

"I got a call from Que while I was playing cards." He told her. He was watching her. He needed to make her understand that he was there for her. "Dean and Alec did not plead guilty. The trial starts in 2 weeks. That will be right after the wedding."

"I am going to have to testify. We will have to put off the Honeymoon until the trial is over. I am meeting with his lawyers, Dad, Que, and the district attorney Frida, a week after the wedding.

"So, I guess we will have to just stay held up somewhere close by for our honeymoon," Rory said, "Well, it can't be helped,"

"Martha's Vineyard is beautiful this time of the year. It won't be crowded" Rory told him.

"Excellent idea Ace, I'll make the arrangements." Logan stood up. Rory stopped him,

"Do you have to do it now"? She asked.

"No, I'll do it in the morning," Logan told her.

"Sit back down, I've got something to tell you."Rory pulled on his arm. Logan sat back down.

"You got cold feet, Ace?" He asked her.

"No," she laughed "but when I tell you what I am going to tell you, you might." Logan looked at her strangely. What is she going to tell me? Rory took a deep breath and said:

"I'm pregnant" Logan jumped up. Started yelling. Pulling Rory up and spinning her around. Everyone came running out to the pool to see what was going on.

"We are going to have a baby" Logan was yelling.

"Logan," Rory said.

"What?" He answered.

"Never mind," She told him, shaking her head. She started laughing Logan and Rory hugged and kissed cheeks, everyone was excited, especially Steph. Their babies would be close in age. Logan and Rory swore everyone to silence. They would not tell the parents or grandparents till after the "short" honeymoon. Everyone agreed to help Logan and Rory replace her drinks with soda and juice.

The day of the Wedding

Rory was in her dressing room with her brides' maids, Loreal and Emily came in to check on her. She was dressed. Loreal and Emily just stared, she was beautiful in her Vera Wang wedding dress. Grandmother Hayden made the appointment with Vera herself. They were discussing something OLD-her pearls from Gran-something New-her wedding dress brought by Grandmother Hayden, something BORROWED-the earrings she borrowed from her Grandma Emily, something BLUE-lane was giving her the blue garter to put on.

Grandpa Richard knocked on the door. When it was open, he stood there, admiring his girls.

"Are you girls ready? My, you all look beautiful." Richard told them. The bride's maid headed out, leaving Loreal with Rory.

"Well, ready to run yet?" Lorelai asked.

"No," Rory said," but I do need to tell you something." She hesitated. "Logan and I found out at the party that I am pregnant." Lorelai just looked at her. She is going to be a mom, Lorelai thought smiling.

"I'm going to be a Grandma" Lorelai started laughing, "No, we will have to come up with another name for me. Oh, we are going to have another Gilmore Girl." Lorelai was so excited. Rory was trying to get her to calm down.

"Mom," she yelled. "We aren't telling anyone till we get back from our honeymoon. Now please don't tell anyone."

They met Christopher and Luke in the hall. Luke is going to escort Lorelai to her seat and Christopher is going to walk Rory down the aisle. When the Reverend asked, 'who gives this lady?' Lorelai, Christopher, Luke, Emily, and Richard are going to stand up and say 'Her Family'.

After the wedding, during the reception, Logan and Rory called Mitchum, Shira, Lorelai, Luke, and Christopher outside. They told them about the trial starting up and that they would be staying nearby for a week, then after the trial, they would take a honeymoon. Everyone was sorry to hear that Dean and Alec wanted to go to trial, but wished the couple a few quiet days to themselves.

Rory and Logan had been back from Martha's Vineyard and at their new apartment in New York about an hour or so when Logan's phone rang. He was told by Que that Dean and Alec had pled guilty to kidnapping. They were given 10 years each and upon release, there would be a restraining order that the two of them could not be within 1000 feet of Rory and Logan. They were both excited that there would be no trial but thought that 10 years was not enough time.

They both started making phone calls and started packing for their real honeymoon, 3 weeks in Asia.
