Justin's POV

                   We were in the middle of crowd when the host eventually call the last contestant to be on the stage.

I prepared my throat as she started walking.

Breath in..

"Let's welcome on the stage, the last designer, Ms. Rain Quenirry, the representative of Stallion University!"

Breath out...

"WOOOOOHOOO! GO RAIN! GO RAIN! GO RAIN! YOU'RE THE BEST!"

Napatingin, halos ang kalahati ng crowd sa akin dahil sa lakas ng naging sigaw ko.
Napabungisbungis naman ang apat na kasama ko at tinapik nalang ako sa balikat.

Bakit ba, proud ako para kay Rain eh.

Ngayon kasi ang contest nila. Tapos na silang mag design and they're about to announce the winners.

I smiled to her when she surprisingly look at me. Nah thumbs up pa ako pero umiwas lang siya ng tingin. Pero hindi makakatakas sa matalas na paningin ko ang maliit na ngiti sa sulok ng labi niya.

The yell was worth it.

"WOOOOHOOO!"

"Omg, sila ang Syclups diba?"

"Bakit sila andito?"

"Si Quenirry ata ang sadya nila.."

What the—pati dito kilala kami?
Ganun naba kakalat ang pangalan namin?
Outside the University na toh ah..

"Now, let's not waste our time. Sabay sabay nating kilalanin kung kaninong paaralan ang nagtataglay ng estudyanteng kumuha ng atensyon ng mga hurado.."

The host said.

The drum rolls started and the crowd started losing itself just like what others do when we perform on stage.

"Ate Jacee?"

Napalingon ako kay Stell nang bigla niyang banggitin ang pangalan ng kapatid ko at tumingin sa tinitignan niya.

Andito nga si Ate.

"What are you doing here?"
Kaswal na tanong ko.

"It's my buddy's competition, can't i come?"
She snapped as she look at Rain in the stage.

"We will present the design in the wall and after we said that you're allowed to, designers sabay sabay niyong haharapin ang pader. We will not announce the name, when you saw your design later, step forward. OK?"

The host said again.

"The host is quite playful"
Paulo murmured beside me.

I smirk and said,
"Pustahan tayo, si Rain ang mag e-step forward mamaya. Her design is a piece of heaven"

"I agree with that"
Biglang sabi ng ate ko sa tabi ko na ikinangiti ko naman.

That's more like it..

"Let's count! One.."

The crowd started counting with the host and tense became stronger and stronger.

"Two!.."

I didn't say a word, contrariwise i strengthen my glance into her that can probably calm her.
She must be nervous right now but she don't make it obvious.

"Three!"

The light in the hall turned off and the light in the stage lights up.
Lumabas sa malaking projector ang isang design na isa sa kanila ang nagmamayari.

The interior design was really really amazing and detailed. Even Ken, a engineer, can't beat it.

I hope it's Rain's design. It must.

"Designers.. Turn around now"

Sabay sabay silang umikot palikod at sabay sabay rin nilang nakita ang nakikita namin. Some of them frowned in disappointment, some even cried.

But Rain remained calm just like the usual her.

"Do you think it's hers?"
Tanong ni Josh sa gilid ko.

"It should"
Sagot ko naman.

"Lucky designer, you can now step your throne!"

Tumahimik ang lahat sa hall at hinintay kung kanino sa kanila ang gagalaw at hahakbang pasulong.

I crossed my hands and pray silently.

Nagsimulang tumugtog ang drum roll na lalong nagpakaba sa amin.

Nagsimula na ring bumilis ang takbo ng puso ko.. Not until when Rain,..

Suddenly stepped forward.

"WOOOOHOOOOOO! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! YOU WON, DARLING!!"

Agad akong hinila pababa nila Josh at Ken dahil sa naging sigaw ko.

Nagpalakpakan ang lahat at nahulog ang mga balloons.

"Mind your words, Justin. Nasa public tayo, paano kung may fans ka palang andito?"
Sermon ni Paulo.

Hindi ko iyon pinansin at nagsisisigaw sa tuwa.
Para akong tatay na inilalakad ang anak sa stage para kunin ang medal niya, juskopo.

"CONGRATULATIONS STALLION UNIVERSITY! CONGRATULATIONS DESIGNER. RAIN QUENIRRY!"

Lalo akong napangiti at napasigaw sa galak nang makita ko ang ngiti niya. Ang totoong ngiti niya habang tinatanggap ang medalya at tropiyo.

Tangina, maiiyak pa ata ako.

" I knew it, you made it Rain.. We made it"
Bulong ko sa hangin.

"Designer Rain! Designer Rain! Designer Rain!"
Napatingin ako sa Syclups, pati kay ate nang magsimula silang mag cheer na rin.

Wala akong sinayang na oras at sinabayan sila sa pagsigaw.

She's really awesome. Even the judges stand only to clap her and her design.

Her efforts are not in vain.

Napatigil lang ako sa pagtatalon talon at pagsisigaw sigaw nang makita kong tumingin siya sa direksyon ko at ngumiti.

Lalo lumawak ang ngiti ko at umabot na ata hanggang tenga.

"WOOOOHOOOOOO!"

Trust me, buddy.

Winning your girl's smile is more than winning a race, or even a competition.
It's so worth it..

It's the source of my both
weakness and strength.
