"Damn it all!" Karl cursed under his breath, pushing George to a nearby guard, who quickly restrained his arms behind him.

George furrowed his eyebrows in betrayal and shock. Dream had left him, he didn't care about him. He knew his life was on the line and he still left him.

He blinked back the hurt tears and glared at the place the tall man had last been. And this is why he should have stayed with Karl, at least everyone was happy, even if it was fake happiness or because Karl had done something awful.

Karl rushed up to the fallen Sapnap, inspecting the severity of the wounds. "He'll live, help me get him to a medic. And you." He pointed to the guard holding George, "Take him to the dungeon, he'll be executed at first light." He ordered and the guard nodded, harshly pushing George in front of him as he guided them on their way.

George let his jaw drop in disbelief, executed? This was how he died? And it was all because someone didn't want to save him. He was worthless wasn't he, and the only person who had wanted to spend time with him was the one ordering his demise.

George sat in the freezing damp floor of his cell, staring numbly at the aligning wall. A repetitive drip was holding his attention as he subconsciously thought about everything that was going to happen in the very near future.

As he thought about what Dream had done to him, had let be done to him.

He let the tears fall as he knew he was completely alone, and that it wouldn't even matter if someone saw or not. He was going to be dead in a few hours anyways. Who cares if they saw him crying, he knew even the strongest would probably do as he was.

As the minutes dragged on, the brunette sobbed, taking in a ragged breath to only cry out in fear and sadness as he wept. He cried until he had no more tears, and then he lay down on the dirty floor and curled up in a fetal position, wishing the morning would never arrive.

But all too soon it did.

The lack of sleep showed in George's posture and under his eyes as he was guided upstairs into the warmer part of the castle and outside. The wind brushed his tousled hair into his downcast eyes, the sun barely peeking over the calm water before them.

Darkness still gathered in the places the sun didn't touch, leaving an ambiance of shadows in its wake as the two made their way into the town square.

A gallows was built in the center of the plaza, Karl standing up on it, his arms behind his back, a crown placed precariously on his fluffy brown hair. George couldn't read his face as he approached, glancing every now and then at the crowd around them.

He took a deep breath as he was pulled up and onto the gallows and stood on the trapdoor, the noose swinging tauntingly in front of his nose.

He was going to die a very painful death.

He swallowed thickly as Karl raised his hands up out to the crowd, "This." He shouted and George cringed at the loud noise next to him, "This is why you don't defy me! We can all live in harmony if you just obey my simple rules, and you all know that! I'll show you what happens if you try to, with this traitor. He was once my comrade, but he showed his true self by trying to kill me and Sapnap, and thankfully he failed."

He waited, and the crowd applauded his speech as he nodded to them. George realized what he was doing all too late.

Karl was using him as an example, he was trying to stomp any treasonous acts from happening in the future. Even with the drug holding them captive in their minds.

Karl was a manipulative, two-faced murderer.

And only Dream and George knew. Dream would be this village's only help when George was gone. That selfish snake would be their only hope.

The brunette felt a sickening lurch to his stomach as Karl waved a hand to the guard next to George, who guided the circle of rope over the brit's brown hair and rested it on his pale neck. He felt as if it was already choking him as he felt it lay there; as it waited to be pulled taut.

"One."

George squeezed his eyes shut.

"Two."

He took a breath of the sweet ocean breeze, savoring his last breath on this earth, as he waited for the trapdoor to be released.

But it never came.

Gasps of horror rang out and Karl shouted as a whoosh of wings blew a huge gust of wind into George's pale face.

He opened his eyes in alarm and gasped as well, as somebody took the rope off his neck and scooped him up, holding him bridal style. He yelped and grasped the man's neck tightly. "Dream?!?"

The blonde panted from the strain as he knocked the guards away with his enormous white wings attached to his back, before bending his knees slightly to jump into the air. Flapping quickly to gain momentum and height. He twirled in the air, making George dizzy.

The brunette looked down to see Karl on the ground far below already, guards covering him with their bodies as the two flew away. George was in shock. He must be dead. Karl pulled the lever and Dream was an angel going to take him to heaven or something. Right?

But, then again, Karl did say that almost everything was possible here.

And he had never spoken truer words.
