"What?" George asked, shocked. He was still a little on Karl's side, even though the drug was completely gone.
Even before Karl had fed him, he was still very friendly and nice. A small part of him felt that Karl was innocent.
Dream rolled his eyes, "Well do you know a better way? Besides we can't leave him alive, I know he'll find a way to escape somehow."
George frowned in thought, "But-" He started to protest but Dream stopped him, "No, we're doing it my way. Trust me, this is the right thing to do." And with that, he turned back to the fire and placed his hands in his lap.
George sighed, but nodded. Dream probably knew better, he was here longer than himself. He had a good reason for the way he was going about this whole situation. George was 99% sure.
"So, then how do you plan on killing Karl?" He asked, studying Dream's side profile.
Dream didn't look at him, "There's a masquerade party next week. For Karl's birthday. I've been planning this whole mission for months, but I never really had the right chance to put it into action. And I would like the extra help." He gave George a side glance, but the brunette was staring at the fire now as well.
"I don't even know how to hold a sword right." George confessed, and Dream sighed knowingly. "I figured, but that's why I'll start training you as soon as possible, today even. We need to be ready, this will be our only chance." He told the brit who agreed silently with a nod of his head.
"What's your plan though?" George asked again, leaning back on his palms, the gravel stuck into his skin slightly but he didn't move.
"Well, I'll have to make us both masks and steal some clothes from the market. I'll train you just enough that you'll know how to at least defend yourself if needed. Once we get in, we'll try to make our way to Karl without his noticing, Sapnap will probably be up there too. So since Sapnap is the head of the military, I'll take care of him, I'll just have you try to hold Karl off while I deal with him, then I'll come help you." Dream explained his plan in detail, George nodding along every now and then to let Dream know he was listening.
"How will we get out? Won't the people be mad that we killed Karl, since they are on his drug?" George asked, seeing a flaw in Dream's plan.
The blonde furrowed his brow, "I'll... know what to do, don't worry." He reassured the brit, who cautiously let it go.
"Okay, well I guess all we need is clothes and training then." George said, mentally checking off the list in his head of what they needed to do. Dream dipped his head, "Yup. And we can start that right now."
George sighed, it was going to be a couple of long days.
And he still didn't know how to get home.
–
Five days later and George barely knew how to hold a defensive stance and block a certain swing. That's all he had to show. Five days of brutal training, and that's what he was left with.
Dream certainly didn't like it, but they only had a day till the ball, they didn't have the time to learn more. They would just have to make do with what they had.
The blonde had already gotten their costumes and they were all set, only waiting on the time.
George nervously looked over at Dream who was contently eating his mushroom soup behind the fire, before he glanced back down at his bowl, setting it down.
Dream looked up as he heard the bowl scrape the stone floor, "Not hungry?" He guessed and George sighed, "I'm just nervous." He admitted looking up at the blonde sitting criss-cross ahead of him.
