"FUUUUUCK" Dream screamed, slamming his fist against the stone wall, he shakily walked over to where George had been and studied the floor, but he was unable to tell if he had just left on his own, or someone had taken him.

He spun on his heel and paced the room for a few moments as he thought. It was possible George left to go clear his head as well. But it was also very possible that the argument had attracted enemies and they had followed them back here.

They had walked instead of flown.

Dream smacked his forehead in irritation, he was so stupid, he should have been more careful.

George could be hurt, or dead right now. And it was all because Dream had left him alone.

It was Dream's fault.

He pressed the palms of his hands to his closed eyelids, before he took a deep breath and left their base.

He would go look for George. He would find him, and kill whoever got in his way of bringing the brunette home to him.

Dream crouched onto the ledge of a tall window of Karl's castle, his wings closed behind him.

He had his white mask from the masquerade on, for he was afraid someone would recognize him somehow, even though it had been years since his father's assasination.

Karl's voice emitted from the cracked open window, "Yes. Yes. I know, Sapnap. You should be the one resting. I'm fine." He assured the ravenette standing attentively next to him, Karl was studying a stack of papers before him on the huge table. They were in the throne room, a table placed in the middle recently.

Dream pressed himself against the inside wall of the window as he listened to the two talk.

Sapnap protested, "But you shouldn't be pushing yourself so hard to prepare for-" He was cut off as Karl shushed him, "Shhhh, you don't know who could be listening right now." He whispered through his teeth, Sapnap bowed his head in shame, "Sorry, I just think you should be a little easier on yourself, that's all." He said, trying to cover up his mistake.

Karl sighed, "I know. I'm just a little stressed about everything that's been happening recently, and with George being found, so much has been going on. I'll be fine." He assured the man beside him.

The two's conversation was tuned out of Dream's hearing as he processed what Karl had just said, he had George.

He gritted his teeth as he strained to hear anything about George's whereabouts.

Karl's voice became louder as he focused back on it, "Whoever the person is that George was conspiring with can't find where we've hidden him. Alright? You must tell no one what I'm about to tell you." Karl ordered and Sapnap hesitantly nodded.

"You know that old tower on the other side of the island? The one that was half burned down when I became King? Go figure." Karl said slyly, and Sapnap chuckled. "No one would ever think to look there." He said, and Karl smirked, crossing his arms as he leaned back.

He glanced up at the window as he heard a slight whoosh of wings, grinning.

"I know."

Dream could barely fly straight as he thought of the horrors that George could be going through. Were they torturing him? Starving him? About to kill him?

Dead?

He shook his head as he tried to focus on flying. And not being spotted, it was still brightly lit outside, the sun still relatively high above the horizon.

He passed over house after house, mushroom cows milling about, some in pens, some not. He flew over large mushrooms, and little streams, before he reached the tower that had once stood grandly in his father's time.

Before Karl had taken over. Before the horrible day known only to Dream as Doomsday.

He fluttered to the ground as he approached the crumbling tower, standing behind a tall mushroom trunk as he peered around to study the perimeter.

Four guards patrolled outside, but two of them were laughing as they talked, distracted. Dream smirked, they stood no match against him.

He flew up onto the mushroom, only a shadow, kneeling on one leg as he prepared to launch himself at them.

Drawing his sword slowly and quietly, Dream shot towards them, taking them all by surprise. Two shouted in alarm, as the distracted pair turned to see the commotion.

But after only a few moments of dueling, all four guards lay on the ground, unconscious or dead. Dream didn't care at the moment.

He busted open the lock with the hilt of his sword and hurried inside, taking the winding stairs up to the top.

He almost cried in relief when he saw George chained up to a wall, gagged. But to his confusion, he could see fear in his eyes.

"George. I'm so sorry I left." He apologized, going up to the brunette, George shook his head wildly, Dream noticed tears shining in the corners of his brown eyes.

"I'm not going to hurt you-" Dream started, afraid that George was scared of him, he held up his hands.

George muffled screams sounded through his gag and Dream finally understood. But he was too late as he was suddenly knocked over the head with the hilt of a sword. He crumpled forward, his heavy wings limply covering him as he blacked out.

Shit.
